If the internal SCA SCSI disks are replaced with way bigger disks there appear to be compatbility issues, and the OpenFirmware hangs for some people with:

Just continuing the boot by manually entering "boot" appears to work on the combinations affected, but of course is preventing the hardware to boot automatically on power-on.
