00:00 < brian|lfs> should I make an the iso and see what happens
00:01 < mqueiros_> yes... You probably wont have X...
00:01 < brian|lfs> and no tar or bzip2
00:01 < brian|lfs> it makes no sense
00:02 < brian|lfs> the script isn't suppsoe to scip packages if they fail it should of bombed out
00:10 < brian|lfs> the script to make an iso doesn't even work
00:11 < brian|lfs> wtf

03:16 < Brian|lfs> hello
03:17 < Brian|lfs> you there mqueiros_
03:23 < mqueiros_> yes ?
03:24 < mqueiros_> rxr: still awake ?
03:26 < Brian|lfs> ya i am
03:26 < Brian|lfs> it won't make my iso the script even
03:26 < Brian|lfs> it says that -q is a invalid option
03:27 < Brian|lfs> Did you look at my pastebin earlier?
03:27 < mqueiros_> I'v checked... I also have errors in some X packages...
03:27 < Brian|lfs> so I'm ok?
03:28 < Brian|lfs> tar and findutils and a fe wother things had errors also
03:28 < mqueiros_> yes I did... I'm not sure if I'v got all those errors, but I have at least some of them... maybe even all...
03:28 < Brian|lfs> how do I tell it to make an iso then the script bombs out and says -q is invalid
03:29 < mqueiros_> if you want to make sure if a package failed to compile you can check in: /build/yourconfig/var/adm/logs
03:29 < mqueiros_> look for "-q" in /scripts/Create-ISO
03:30 < Brian|lfs> and then just take it out
03:30 < Brian|lfs> and re run the script?>
03:30 < mqueiros_> yes... try it... it seems to be an "mkisofs" problem... probably the syntax changed
03:31 < Brian|lfs> I take it its been a while since you made an iso
03:32 < Brian|lfs> I'm going to reboot and check my logs then try but what do I do if important stuff failed like tar or findutils?
03:32 < mqueiros_> yes... I had a T2 tree that was some days old...
03:33 < mqueiros_> you are going to reboot to try your ISO ?
03:33 < Brian|lfs> ya but I'm going to make sure tar and findutils compiled
03:34 < Brian|lfs> if they bombed out what do I do
03:34 < mqueiros_> why don't you use QEMU to try the ISO ?
03:34 < mqueiros_> at least for some basic testing...
03:34 < Brian|lfs> I need tar and findutils in my target system or I'm not going tro be able to recompile lol
03:35 < Brian|lfs> thats a good idea
03:35 < mqueiros_> it will be much faster to try.
03:36 < Brian|lfs> don't make a normal iso first
03:36 < mqueiros_> you can even install QEMU-Launcher to use QEMU, so that you don't have to know the command line syntax
03:37 < Brian|lfs> cool but don't I need to make a normal iso to use qmenu
03:37 < mqueiros_> yes you need.

03:55 < Brian|lfs> I never got to reboot yet
03:56 < Brian|lfs> what do I do if tar or findutils faild
03:56 < Brian|lfs> can I force the script to compile them again?
03:56 < Ragnarin> run a memcheck
03:57 < Ragnarin> linux isn't supposed to crash
03:57 < Brian|lfs> tht isn't going to fix the packages
03:57 < Brian|lfs> my router ya lol
03:57 < Brian|lfs> I'll be back in a few

04:05 < mqueiros_> sorry... they are in /build/yourconfig/var/adm/logs
04:05 < brian|lfs> I found iut
04:05 < brian|lfs> ifj I have a log with an error and a log witut an error am I good
04:05 < brian|lfs> or am I not good
04:06 < mqueiros_> if you see something with .err thats a package that has not been built
04:07 < mqueiros_> the packages that are showing errors have been updated recently (at least some)...
04:07 < brian|lfs> how do I get the script to try to rebuilding these packages
04:07 < brian|lfs> I can't make an iso with no tar or bzip2 that isn't function to good
04:08 < brian|lfs> I don't get whyt hey faild tar and bzip2 or basic as can be lol
04:09 < mqueiros_> ./scripts/Build-Target -cfg yourconfig -job 5-libxevie.err
04:09 < mqueiros_> are you using T2 to build T2 ?
04:09 < brian|lfs> oh ok
04:10 < brian|lfs> I think most of them should go the second time around
04:12 < brian|lfs> ya
04:12 < brian|lfs> I am
04:12 < brian|lfs> I mean no I'm not
04:12 < brian|lfs> becuase the isos won't work on my system remember
04:12 < brian|lfs> the grub bug
04:12 < brian|lfs> can I list multiple logs to recompile on that line?
04:12 < brian|lfs> iof I can't it could take forever
04:13 < mqueiros_> never tried it
04:14 < mqueiros_> i'm not understanding the problem you are having with tar and bzip2...
04:14 < brian|lfs> I'm not either they bombed out
04:14 < brian|lfs> along with some other imporatant stuff
04:15 < brian|lfs> they worked opn the first pass but not the second
04:16 < brian|lfs> hmm
04:16 < brian|lfs> it fixed the first package I guess no clue it didn't ahve to compile even
04:17 < mqueiros_> sorry... it shouldn't be: ./scripts/....... 5-libxevie.ERR (you should remove the .ERR)
04:18 < brian|lfs> naso remove the err for my logsd then do the command?
04:18 < brian|lfs> wow I can't type tonight
04:19 < brian|lfs> I mean remove the erro then do ./scripts/Config-Target -cfg myconfig
04:19 < mqueiros_> yes, remove the .err and change 5-libxevie for the package you want (that was just an example)
04:20 < brian|lfs> oh so the name of the package not a number in front
04:21 < brian|lfs> that didn't work it still didn't compile
04:21 < brian|lfs> but I did remove the error
04:22 < brian|lfs> oh I'm ok lol
04:23 < mqueiros_> yes, it wont compile because there seems to be a problem with X server not compiling, and that's because something called evieext does not compile...
04:23 < mqueiros_> or libxevie...
04:24 < brian|lfs> ahh no wonder glibc faild last night lol
04:24 < brian|lfs> I said fuck it and got rid of all the errors
04:25 < brian|lfs> why didhn't my build stop last ngiht
04:25 < brian|lfs> when the first package failed?
04:25 < mqueiros_> not sure... Sometimes it does stop. At least it stop for me for some times.
04:26 < brian|lfs> ya it has for me to
04:26 < brian|lfs> but when it got up to 5 for the error logs it jsut kept going
04:26 < brian|lfs> I'm going to be waiting a while where talking about 50 packages lol
04:27 < mqueiros_> so... thats it, when it reaches stage 5 it doesn't stop.
04:27 < brian|lfs> or something like that
04:27 < brian|lfs> thats it appears to me
04:27 < brian|lfs> the error logs had 5 in front of them
04:27 < brian|lfs> rbrty dingle one
04:28 < brian|lfs> I guess since glibc faild it caused tar and bzip to fail and a bunch of other stuff
04:28 < brian|lfs> wow I can't get use to this keyboard
04:28 < brian|lfs> Microsoft erganomic natural key7board
04:28 < brian|lfs> keyboard
04:29 < mqueiros_> well, I must go get some sleep... c u tomorrow.
04:29 < brian|lfs> thanks man
04:29 < brian|lfs> so I have been crabby
04:29 < brian|lfs> but if you had your partiton get toasted and everythign else known to man youy would also lopl

06:47 < Brian|lfs> anyone there?
06:48 < Ragnarin> kinda
06:49 < Brian|lfs> my gcc keeps failing on the 5 time around
06:49 < Brian|lfs> and I tried it two or 3 times and still fails
06:49 < Ragnarin> o_o
06:49 < Ragnarin> always same location?
06:49 < Brian|lfs> and I'm not sure what happened but a log from when it built a previous time is gone thats why it can't build part of the reason
06:49 < Ragnarin> o_o
06:50 < Brian|lfs> I don't want to have to start all over got any ideas
06:50 < Ragnarin> I dunno ... but gcc failing is often a sign of memory errors
06:51 < Brian|lfs> hmm
06:51 < Brian|lfs> I took the latest stick out I added to my system becuase of the grub glitch
06:52 < Brian|lfs> I got the stick off of dig or soemthing
06:52 < Brian|lfs> for 30 bucks thats probably a bad stick then
06:56 < Brian|lfs> am I sol am I going to ahve to start all over from the beginning
