05:20 < Brian|lfs> hello kic_
05:21 < Brian|lfs> I found out why I couldn't boot your isos]
05:21 < Ragnarin> why?
05:21 < Brian|lfs> grub was fed up in the trunk
05:21 < Brian|lfs> if you have more then 2 gigsd of ram it was writing to the wrong place lol
05:22 -!- netson99 [n=netson99@202.153.241.206] has joined #t2
05:22 < Brian|lfs> some guy told me about it last ngiht he told me he fixed it and updated the trunk
05:22 < Ragnarin> that was me ;)
05:22 * Ragnarin giggles
05:22 < Brian|lfs> ya it was you
05:23 < Brian|lfs> I didn't see you in the roonm lol
05:23 < Ragnarin> ;D
05:23 < Brian|lfs> the scripts bombed out on gcc today even after turning my stuff down to 4 jobs
05:23 < Ragnarin> do you have a swap partition?
05:23 < Brian|lfs> ya
05:24 < Brian|lfs> I wouldn't of been able to start the build if I didn't
05:24 < Brian|lfs> I think the problem is the scripts are buggy lol
05:24 < Ragnarin> gcc compiles fine for me
05:24 < Brian|lfs> but I'm going to try starting my build again before I go to sleep
05:24 < Brian|lfs> is it because I"m trying to compile on 64 bit
05:25 < Ragnarin> yea I compile 64 bit too
05:26 < Brian|lfs> hmm should I avoid the core2 optimazation
05:26 < Ragnarin> maybe o_O I'm compiling for nocona
05:27 < Brian|lfs> my friend compiled for 32 bit and 30 packages failed to compile
05:28 < Brian|lfs> so he compilede them manually but the script don't see that they where compiled
05:29 < Ragnarin> what did he do to make them compile?
05:29 < Brian|lfs> I forgot what he told me
05:29 < Brian|lfs> but I'll ask if he comes back to his PC
05:30 < Ragnarin> ok
05:30 < Brian|lfs> why are packages failing for us but the same ones working for other people
05:31 < Brian|lfs> I even left the expert settings alone
05:31 < Brian|lfs> I haven't had a suscessful build yet
05:31 < Brian|lfs> I had my partiton get corrupt one time I tried to build and it ruined my ubuntu install lol
05:31 < Ragnarin> some packages will fail on your first try ... for example because there are dependencies that the build system didn't see
05:31 < mqueiros_> Brian|lfs: some problems are because of the distro you are using to build T2.
05:32 < Brian|lfs> will any how another time I tried to build the scripts couldn't chroot to finish
05:32 < mqueiros_> I had a problem building Perl because of my Ubuntu...
05:33 < Brian|lfs> what should I be using as my envirement to build?
05:33 < Brian|lfs> right now I have sabyon installed which is based on ubuntu
05:34 < mqueiros_> probably the best bet is to use T2 to build T2.
05:37 < Brian|lfs> HOw am I going to do that if it won't build in the first place
05:37 < Brian|lfs> and the isos I was given won't work becuase of the grub bug
05:52 < Brian|lfs> anyone htere?
05:52 < Ragnarin> sorry ;)
05:52 < Brian|lfs> there?
05:53 < Brian|lfs> so how do I build from t2 if I don't have a copy of a t2 64 bit iso that works
05:53 < Ragnarin> building 64bit core2 atm to see if gcc fails
05:53 < Brian|lfs> ?
05:53 < Brian|lfs> I"m going to boot in linux before I go to bed and start my build again
05:54 < Ragnarin> okay
05:54 < Brian|lfs> but lets see what happens to your build
05:57 < Brian|lfs> what package are you on right now Ragnarin
05:57 < Brian|lfs> ?
06:04 < Brian|lfs> Should I used this CD for 64 bit compiling? t2-minimal-desktop-live-6.0.3-x86_64_cd1.iso
06:05 < Brian|lfs> I don't see a 64 bit for 7.0
06:08 < Ragnarin> that will probably have the same grub problem
06:08 < Brian|lfs> oh lol
06:08 < Brian|lfs> that sucks
06:09 < Brian|lfs> I'll try resumeing mine and asee what happens then with what I've got
06:09 < Brian|lfs> what package is building right now for you?
06:16 < Ragnarin> linux26
06:16 < Ragnarin> stage 1
06:18 < Brian|lfs> ok few packages after linux26 then you will get to thue gcc that faild on me
06:18 < Brian|lfs> linux26 will take a while
06:18 < Brian|lfs> I downlaoded the iso anyhow becuase I have a cd rw lol
06:18 < Brian|lfs> if I didn't have a cd rw I wouldn't waste my time
06:19 < Brian|lfs> got to find the CD rw and erase ie
06:19 < Brian|lfs> it firs tlol
06:28 < Brian|lfs> Are you stil on linux26 lol
06:29 < Ragnarin> == 14:23:17 =[1]=> Building base/gcc [4.2.1 8.0-trunk].
06:29 < Ragnarin> (wrong time)
06:29 < Brian|lfs> you had the wrong time?
06:29 < Brian|lfs> or is it a bug
06:31 < Ragnarin> just wrong time

06:36 < Brian|lfs> trying to burn this iso
06:36 < Brian|lfs> maybe this RW is hot
06:36 < Brian|lfs> shot
06:40 < Ragnarin> gcc compiled fine
06:41 < Brian|lfs> cool
06:42 < Brian|lfs> it probalby will for me the second time around then
06:42 < Brian|lfs> can you let your whoel build go jsut in case I still ahve problems?

06:52 < Ragnarin> hmm the whole thing? dunno

11:47 < DeeKey> how to compile program to the existing build? I need ssh server in my distro...
12:08 < mtr> Emerge-Pkg should be able to do that
12:10 < DeeKey> This will build and install the package with its default configuration in the current system's root.
12:10 < DeeKey> current system mens my running system?
12:11 < DeeKey> Previously i had bad experience using build-Pkg busybox.
12:11 < DeeKey> T2 installed busybox in my running system :)
12:11 < DeeKey> I had to reinstall the whole system :(
12:12 < mtr> yep, emerging busybox is not a good idea :(
12:13 < mtr> it should be filtered from automatic update, like glibc and others
12:13 < DeeKey> so I need to specify the root of my distro?
12:13 < mtr> what do you mean by distro?
12:14 < mtr> Emerge-Pkg builds into the currently running system
12:14 < DeeKey> I have build my own target (distro) with T2
12:14 < DeeKey> i see..
12:14 < DeeKey> I need to emerge package to the target system.
12:15 < DeeKey> I dont want to recompile the whole target again
12:15 < mtr> didn't you keep the build folder?
12:18 < mtr> if you still have the original configuration and the build files in "build/...ID.../" present, you can just add openssh to the package selection and build only this package with "./Build-Target -cfg ... -job 5-openssh"
12:21 < DeeKey> I see! This is exactly what i need!
12:21 < DeeKey> thank you!

23:24 < brian|lfs> it like skip half of the stuff
23:24 < brian|lfs> it skipped most of xorg and gimp tar findutils and a few other things
23:24 < brian|lfs> it says next to them not in the data base

23:37 < brian|lfs> ya I believe they are
23:37 < brian|lfs> I can check look for random ones

23:39 < brian|lfs> they shouldn't of faild there not gcc or glibc
23:40 < brian|lfs> I would jsut make my iuso but there are some important files missing if you looked at my list
23:42 < brian|lfs> are you still there mqueiros
23:43 < mqueiros> yes
