10:49 < Dallur> rxr: great, still working on the Geode things, was in Taiwan for Computex, showed it to people at AMD, among others the head of embedded marketing, they were very impressed with the video playback and performance in general
10:50 < Dallur> rxr: had a couple of AMD engineers which were scratching their heads how the thing could playback full screen mpeg4 at 17% cpu usage thanks to the video driver hardware acceleration :)

18:18 < LMJ> how are you rxr ?
18:19 < rxr> fine, thanks, how do you do ?
18:19 < LMJ> back from work, trying to make PHP developpers to use SVN, what a pain
18:19 < LMJ> any ideas to lock the production server to allow only svn commad ? ;)
18:21 < rxr> what do you mean with svn commands ?
18:23 < LMJ> I want to force them to put files in production from a SVN repo, not with a cp ;)
18:24 < rxr> add a post commit hook to checkout the stable branch or so into the production file area, maybe
18:28 < LMJ> oki ;)
18:29 < LMJ> what about you ?

18:30 < rxr> :-) fine, much to do - as usual ...
18:34 < LMJ> good ;)
18:35 < rxr> so soon a little later
18:45 < Cyda> Does anyone have a working list of minimal packages needed to create a x86_64 target?
18:46 < LMJ> I guess there is already targets
18:47 < Cyda> yeah i want smaller than that, dont need gcc and such
18:48 < LMJ> I think it's not a choice, after Stage 1 at least, but maybe rxr can answer better then me
18:49 < LMJ> did you check out : target/generic/pkgsel/00-minimal.in ?
18:50 < Cyda> yeah
18:50 < Cyda> i need the full bootable system to be around 50Mb
18:50 < Cyda> less would be better
18:51 < LMJ> very minimalist one ;)

21:03 < ggt2> hi
21:03 < ggt2> how do you enable grsecurity in the 6.0.3 kernel build linux26 on a powerpc or ix86
21:06 < tri> any idea how to download this file with the dowloadscript ?
21:06 < tri> #t2
21:06 < tri> err: http://qemulator.createweb.de/plugins/downloads/dodownload.php?file=Qemulator-0.5.tar.gz
21:08 < tri> curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 404
21:08 < tri> but if i wget the url it downloads ?
21:12 < tri> does t2 support "setup.py" ?
21:13 < ggt2> how do you enable grsecurity in the 6.0.3 kernel build linux26 on a powerpc...
21:15 < tri> ggt2: sorry i have know idea about grsecurity...
21:20 < sepp> ggt2: enable it in the package selection
21:23 < sepp> all 3rd party kernel mods are build if you enable the package to build ...
21:23 < ggt2> its a module that has to patch the kernel first and you need to do it at the pre-kernel build level
21:24 < sepp> that is done for you
21:24 < ggt2> the package builds but the patching is not done??
21:24 < sepp> the kernel patch?
21:25 < sepp> with package you mean the grsecurity package?
21:26 < ggt2> yes there are two parts grsec a kernel embeded control driver that limits what can be done -grsec and gradm the module admin modules
21:26 < sepp> for the kernel part you have to enable the package and (re)build linux2*
21:26 < ggt2> i did that but the patching of the kernel is skipped in the kernel build linux26 ??
21:26 < sepp> do you have a logfile?
21:27 < ggt2> yes - its ok says it built the module but ignores and skips the patching.. the other powerpc patches work fine??
21:28 < sepp> can you publish the log somewhere?
21:28 < ggt2> sure... i will in sec... building another module... in a bit...

22:07 < ggt2> root@localhost:~/t2-tags/6.0.3#
22:08 < sepp> but that is the grsecurity package and not the kernel
22:08 < Ragnarin> oh anyone mind if I move vserver on trunk to the patch that also includes grsec?
22:08 -!- emte [n=emte@d64-180-45-14.bchsia.telus.net] has quit [Read error: 110 (Connection timed out)]
22:08 < ggt2> well when the kernel builds it finds the pam stuff and lsmod shows it.
22:09 < sepp> the kernel + pam, what?
22:09 < ggt2> where should it find find the pam .so lib?
22:11 < ggt2> how do you update the list of packages?
22:12 < sepp> the config/.../packages file?
22:13 < ggt2> how do you update that - what command do you run ./scripts/...????
22:13 < tri> hm ./scripts/Config -cfg ... -oldconfig ?
22:14 < tri> but if gresc is a kernel module you may include it in the pkgsel file ?
22:15 < CIA-9> ragnar * r24839 /trunk/package/security/vserver/vserver.desc: * vserver: update and switch to the grsec included patch
22:15 < tri> like "X iwlwifi" and then if you build the kernel the module is builded automaticly ?
22:15 < Ragnarin> yea
22:16 < ggt2> CIA-9 what is that ...
22:16 < tri> ah my t2 knowledge is getting better... ;-)
22:16 < sepp> a bot reporting commit msgs
22:16 < tri> CIA is a bot
22:17 < tri> http://cia.vc/stats/project/t2
22:19 < ggt2> ok.. I am look at config screen to select it grsec manually
22:22 < ggt2> is there a way to just update the list of packages like an update packages command...
22:22 < tri> ./scripts/Config -cfg ... -oldconfig ?
22:23 < ggt2> tri--- what does that do ..?
22:27 < sepp> it regenerates the packages file, which is the list of packages to build (without opening the "gui")
22:28 < sepp> config/.../packages
22:28 < tri> that is useful if you edit the pkgsel file with and editor and not with the ./scripts/Config script
22:29 < ggt2> ok.. i get it sort of ... so i type what ... to get the updated list of packages './scripts/Config -cfg
22:30 < sepp> './scripts/Config -cfg YOURCONFIGNAME -oldconfig'
22:31 < ggt2> oh thanks thats helpful.. :)
22:31 < tri> if yout havend used a 'YOURCONFIGNAME" it might be "default"
22:31 < ggt2> i am little slow today.. on meds for foot operation...
22:31 < tri> then you see a folder config/default on your system
22:33 < ggt2> ok working on that ... thanks alot its finally starting to make sense... pretty kool actually

23:05 < Cyda> hrm if am installing t2 using stone and it doesnt go through the postinstall script, what am i missing?
23:05 < sepp> dont know, but you can run them later
23:06 < tri> Cyda: hm i had also same problems last time
23:06 < sepp> o_O
23:07 < Cyda> yeah stone setup run manually doesnt take the root password anyway
23:07 < Cyda> what are the stone modules (no man?)
23:08 < tri> i mount the partitons to /mnt/target and then do cd /mnt/target for file in list-of-tars ; do tar xvfI $file done
23:08 < tri> after that i reboot and use again the t2 boot cd and stone
23:08 < tri> and then i get the postinstall scripts
23:09 < tri> i know that isn't the right way but it works ;-)
23:09 < Cyda> list-of-tars being a file i created?
23:09 < Cyda> hey if it works its right
23:09 < tri> ah know
23:09 < tri> err no
23:09 < tri> list-of-tars is /mnt/cdrom/.../.../herearethetars/*
23:12 < tri> i think the gasgui or how the stone package installer is called is broken
23:12 < sepp> O_o
23:14 < Cyda> tri, let me see if i got this right, mount the partition, untar the files in the partition then run stone?
23:14 < tri> yes
23:14 < tri> boot the cd where which you have build with t2
23:15 < tri> then mount the cdrom and mount the partitons (boot,home,/ etc)
23:15 < tri> to /mnt/target
23:15 < Cyda> do i have to use stone setup explicitly to avoid stone's installer?
23:15 < Cyda> or just plain stone will do?
23:15 < Cyda> well am working with one / partition
23:15 < tri> hm i think both are the same ?
23:16 < tri> ah ok then you just have to mount your /dev/sda to /
23:16 < Cyda> stone setup is the postinstall script, stone install is the installer
23:16 < tri> after i copied the tar.gz2 to the /mnt/target
23:17 < tri> i reboot the system again with the stone installer
23:17 < tri> and tada now stone goes forward to change the root passwd etc.
23:17 < Cyda> copied? tar.gz2?
23:17 < tri> yes
23:18 < tri> mount /mnt/target and then do cd /mnt/target for file in list-of-tars ; do tar xvfI $file done
23:18 < Cyda> that doesnt copy that unpacks
23:18 < tri> not really copy i extract them
23:18 < tri> yes sorry did mean that ;-)
23:18 < Cyda> i figured ;-p
23:19 < Cyda> now after i reboot i would need to remount /mnt/target right?
23:19 < tri> hm no just use the stone installer from the cd
23:19 < tri> (that is what i did)
23:19 < tri> (and i know i did it wrong but it works...)
23:19 < Cyda> ok i'll give it a shot, bbiab
23:20 < Cyda> wrong is what am doing coz it doesnt work
23:20 < tri> hm setup.py sucks...

23:24 < tri> For now the installer don't perform any dependency check in a direct way
23:24 < tri> but in a indirect way it does: The installer nearly depends on the same libraries as Qemulator itself
