I'm working on a 8.0 x86_64 host system trying to build a x86_64 target and am running into "checking dynamic linker characteristics... configure: error: Link tests are not allowed after GCC_NO_EXECUTABLES." 17:17 < michael-i> I also ran into this on an x86 host trying to build the 64bit version...and moved to a 64bit host just in case. 17:17 < rxr> hi 17:18 < michael-i> Anyway...I've goggled around and around for the problem with little luck. Wondering if anyone had seen something similar in their t2 travels :) 17:18 < rxr> hard to tell from afar 17:18 < rxr> no chance you can upgrade to some newer "trunk"? 17:18 < rxr> or do you mean building trunk on an 8.0 install? 17:18 < michael-i> i've tried porting in pieces of trunk to 8.0 (gcc definition, glibc, etc) with the same result 17:20 < michael-i> All was fine building 32bit on 32bit. Now working on my 64bit target is proving adventurous :) I'm guaranteed to learn something new though 17:22 < michael-i> I'm working with a T2 fork I created a few years ago and have modernized as needed. Only now have I needed to port in X86_64. I'm guessing there are missing pieces outside of the arch/x86-64 dir that also need inclusion. 17:23 < michael-i> Anyway, I know your job is not to help with forks. Just wondering if anyone had seen that GCC_NO_EXECUTABLES error and it sparked a memory. 17:39 < rxr> sorry for the lag - I'm a bit busy as usual, .. 17:40 < rxr> well, you have cross build checked? 17:40 < rxr> if your build host can ont run the produced binaries you need to enable cross building 17:40 < rxr> cross compling 17:40 < michael-i> cross builds are enabled 17:41 < rxr> and obviously not all packages are cross compile proof, yet, ... 17:41 < michael-i> I get through stage 0 fine, GCC dies on stage 1 21:56 -!- michael-i [~michael-i@11.red-79-155-60.dynamicip.rima-tde.net] has quit [Quit: michael-i] --- Log closed Tue Apr 26 00:00:15 2016
