10:42 < arete74> hi rxr
10:42 < arete74> i test new udev, but not create disk device ex /dev/sda1
11:15 < arete74> i now test to compile the kernel with CONFIG_SYSFS_DEPRECATED_V2 disabled
11:45 < rxr> in trunk:HEAD udev works for me, just spits a ton of warnings about derecated rules syntax, ...
11:46 < rxr> which platform? x86, or x86-64, or something else?
11:46 < arete74> in x64 platform, i test with initrd
11:46 < rxr> oh, I only use initrd, ...
11:47 < rxr> without initrd you may need the sysvinit init script fix I comitted the other day (yesterday?)
11:47 < rxr> (udev* to udevadm rename, ...)
11:47 < arete74> i try to compile last trunk
11:49 < arete74> i have modify line in the init file udev & -> udevd -d
12:21 < rxr> the early initrd init intentionally ahs &, to be able to kiill it with the shell built-in kill %...
12:22 < rxr> that -d should not make a difference in the system init, but if you did yet had udevtrigger and udevsettle instead of udevadm trigger and settle, that would be a reason of fail
12:24 < arete74> i utilize the init in the trunk that utilize udevadm trigger ,
12:31 < arete74> was is the target that you utilize?
12:32 < rxr> I usually build generic with minimal selection - or slight variants of it
12:33 < rxr> and I continously keep the reference target building on x86 and x86-64 to test as many random packages as possible
12:34 < arete74> i now to compile target "test" for x64 cpu in croos compile
12:50 < arete74> you can send me you build kernel and initrd for x64
12:59 < rxr> I did the last full tests on x86, due setting up my OQO 01+ :_)
13:00 < rxr> trunk should really work
13:00 < rxr> just need to get rid of this udev warnings :-(
13:00 < rxr> and since a decade or so I only use intird systems
13:00 < rxr> for the flexibility of any storage driver loading, ...
13:02 < rxr> have to really do some work, need to finish some project over the weekend, ..
13:07 < arete74> ok i continue a build last trunk
13:11 < rxr> coffee time
