16:54 < rogermas`> hello.
16:54 < rogermas`> I'm trying to build webkit in trunk. It fails thusly: configure:17433: error: possibly undefined macro: AS_MESSAGE_LOG_FDdnl
16:56 < rogermas`> I've seen this before but I don't recall the fix.
16:57 < rxr> hm, the last time I tooked at webkit it built, IIRC it was "recently" updated, ...
17:05 < rogermas`> is this the fix: http://www.mail-archive.com/t2@t2-project.org/msg02036.html
17:56 < rogermas`> I rebuilt pkgconfig with that patch and building gets past that point of failure. Now webkit fails for lack of gstreamer-app, gstreamer-interfaces, gstreamer-pbutils, gstreamer-plugins-base, gstreamer-video. I have installed gstreamer but it does not provide those packages and they aren't in the package matrix.
17:58 < rogermas`> I'm doing all this just to get a browser that does not crash on my G5 (tried firefox, arora), I was hoping uzbl might work, but depends on webkit, which won't build, even on x86.
17:58 < rxr> firefox crash should be just missing timezone data (or so from the cross build)
18:00 < rogermas`> No:
18:00 < rogermas`> perthite Download $ ls /etc/localtime -l
18:00 < rogermas`> lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 38 Oct 7 08:32 /etc/localtime -> ../usr/share/zoneinfo/America/St_Johns
18:00 < rogermas`> perthite Download $ firefox &
18:00 < rogermas`> [1] 15832
18:00 < rogermas`> perthite Download $ /opt/mozilla.org/lib64/firefox-3.6.8/run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 15849 Segmentation fault (core dumped) "$prog" ${1+"$@"}
18:00 < rogermas`> [1]+ Exit 139 firefox
18:00 < rxr> does that timezone data exist? works fine?
18:00 < rxr> (in other apps=
18:00 < rxr> )
18:01 < rogermas`> perthite Download $ ls -l /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/St_Johns
18:01 < rogermas`> -rw-r--r-- 2 root root 3632 Oct 7 10:38 /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/St_Johns
18:02 < rogermas`> machine shows correct time
18:02 < rxr> hm :-(
18:02 < rogermas`> what cross-build? I built firefox _on_ the G5.
18:03 < rxr> I meant the base system you downloaded
18:04 < rogermas`> Oh. but I think I rebuilt glibc and, anyway, nothing else seems broken.
18:04 < rxr> I saw that firefox crash, too
18:04 < rxr> thought it was timezone related
18:04 < rxr> need to debug
18:05 < rogermas`> cannot get browser that works on this damn machine. may have to ditch it or revert to gentoo.
18:05 < rxr> :-(
18:05 < rxr> well, firefox is supposed to be fixable, worked on athe last build on my G4, ...
18:06 < rogermas`> I've spent too much time on it already. Maybe yellow dog?
18:07 < rogermas`> you run firefox in gdb?
18:07 < rxr> not right now, I saw the crash on latest trunk builds even on non-x86, thought it was glibc related
18:08 < rxr> I should really debug that this week
