09:53 < rxr> koan: ok - my iso boots, again
09:55 < rxr> aha! this broke it:

09:55 < rxr> Remove binary libext2fs.a and build against system library.
10:00 < koan> aha
10:01 < koan> so this system library wasn't available?
10:02 < rxr> it was, but 64bit
10:02 < rxr> and due to additional yaboot Makefile regressions the rest of yaboot was built for 64bit so it linked together happily, but yaboot will not work when built for 64bit
10:04 < rxr> ok - despite one minor hickup it also installed and starts to boot
10:05 < koan> what's the hickup?
10:05 < rxr> after the install when the install system should shutdown stone get's a SIGSTOP or SUSPEND or what it was
10:06 < rxr> I'm not sure if it would reboot this way all the way down
10:06 < rxr> I typed fg 3 times and it shut down
10:06 < rxr> maybe it would without the fg'ing the stone process
10:06 < rxr> no idea how this "regression" happend ...
10:06 < rxr> but this is not so critical - at this point t2 is already installed, so one could also even power-off ...
10:06 < koan> indeed
10:06 < rxr> I release this iso to the unstable test dir
10:07 < koan> thanks, I'll try it in a couple of days
10:09 < CIA-4> rene * r31222 /trunk/architecture/ (powerpc64/parse-config sparc64/parse-config): * fixed powerpc64 to build a 32bit e2fsprogs library for yaboot

10:17 < rxr> if you download tomorrow or so it might be on the faster mirrors ...
10:19 < koan> no problem, it'll probably be something for the weekend
10:20 < rxr> ok - try the dl2 and dl3 mirrors as our server is pretty busy anyways ...
10:51 < CIA-4> rene * r31224 /trunk/package/audio/libmad/ (libmad.conf mad.pc): * fixed libmad/mad.pc to include a leading / in include, library pathes and include -lmad

11:37 < michael-i> Hello everybody. I'm back trying to get a generic blackfin image compiled. I've reverted my changes from yesterday and will keep you posted on how things progress.
11:53 < michael-i> looks like they took care of the error I'm seeing with uClibc (http://pastebin.ca/1254211) in revision 2427 of the blackfin tools (http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.hardware.blackfin.toolchain.scm/961)
11:55 < rxr> I also just wiped the arch overlay files and redownload them on our master mirror
11:55 < rxr> just in case there was something screwed in the t2 scripts when they where fetched
11:55 < rxr> will rebuild with those sources in some moments
11:55 < michael-i> ok
11:56 < michael-i> mahlzeit, be back in a bit

14:00 < rxr> michael-i: heh, with the re-downloaded files I need the texinfo patch again
14:01 < rxr> guess on our mirros where files with a different revision, due to a bug in the Download -all script part that did not honor all version control flags in the Download tag
14:02 < michael-i> rxr, synchronization nightmare
14:05 < michael-i> I'm still trying to pull an updated version of uClibc from blackfin's repo. 35MB already downloaded but the older archive is only 25MB.
14:05 < rxr> you mean our mirror tarball =
14:05 < rxr> ?
14:05 < rxr> the mirror tarball has the .svn stuff deleted
14:05 < rxr> the "in progress download size" includes the .svn file size IIRC
14:07 < michael-i> I've just updated the revision numbers in /architecture/blackfin/packages/uclibc.desc to the post fix revision. Is that the correct method to update the sources being used?
14:08 < michael-i> my diff (http://pastebin.ca/1254282)
14:27 < rxr> so in t2-trunk all was right
14:28 < rxr> just un-matching "random (maybe HEAD?)" revision of the snapshots on the t2 mirrors :-(
14:29 < CIA-4> rene * r31226 /trunk/architecture/blackfin/package/binutils/texinfo-version.patch:
14:29 < CIA-4> * revert r31203, the patch is needed, just random files on the mirrors,
14:29 < CIA-4> which are now fixed instead
14:33 < michael-i> updated, trying again
14:35 < michael-i> binutils fails again because of the texinfo patch...what should I set my mirror to so I'm getting the latest sources?
14:40 < rxr> they are right now being synced - in some minutes all mirrors should
14:40 < rxr> workd
14:40 < rxr> work even
14:40 < rxr> minutes++
14:40 < michael-i> ok, sounds god
14:40 < rxr> you could also try with your updated sources, if it all builds with their "nearly HEAD" we can also update
14:40 < michael-i> arrr s/god/good
14:41 < michael-i> I'll try that instead. I'll update to their uClibc head version. If that works, I'll try updating the other components of that toolchain one by one
14:41 < CIA-4> rene * r31227 /trunk/package/xfce4/xarchiver/xarchiver.desc: * updated xarchiver (0.4.6 -> 0.5.2)
14:49 < michael-i> when the download script is pulling information from a repository to be packed into an archive, could it use "svn export" instead of "svn co"? I'm just trying to optimize this nightmarishly slow download from sources.blackfin.uclinux.org
14:51 < rxr> yes, we could indeed
14:51 < rxr> don't know why we don't ...
14:51 < michael-i> well, i have something to try while i'm waiting
14:52 -!- koan [n=koan@unaffiliated/koan] has quit [Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer)]
14:52 < rxr> but this should only change disk useage, network traffic should stay the same, hm ?
14:52 < michael-i> you are probably right...the svn client probably generates all of that meta information itself
14:55 < rxr> yep
14:55 < rxr> but you can tweak scripts/Download notheless :-)
14:56 < CIA-4> mtr * r31228 /trunk/package/develop/sourcenav/ (fwritable-strings.patch sourcenav.desc): * updated sourcenav (5.2b2 -> 6.0)

14:57 < CIA-4> mtr * r31231 /trunk/package/database/mysql++/ (. mysql++.cache mysql++.desc): * added mysql++ (3.0.6) - A C++ wrapper for MySQL
14:58 < CIA-4> mtr * r31232 /trunk/package/develop/zthread/ (7 files): * added zthread (2.3.2) - A platform-independent, multi-threading and synchronization library for C++.
15:07 < michael-i> super tiny patch to scripts/Download : http://pastebin.ca/raw/1254315
15:07 < michael-i> the same could be done for git but i'm not familiar enough with it to just paste in "get export"
15:14 < rxr> the patch is tested ?
15:15 < michael-i> it's still downloading but yes, I've run it
15:15 < rxr> I will use your name for the commit, I hope/guess that's fine ?
15:16 < michael-i> fine with me, thanks for the credit for such a HUGE addition to t2 ;)
15:27 < rxr> :-)
15:30 < CIA-4> rene * r31233 /trunk/scripts/Download:
15:30 < CIA-4> "Michael Iedema" :
15:30 < CIA-4> * improved scripts/Download to directly use svn export instead of svn co
16:45 < michael-i> heading home... (still downloading...hopefully tomorrow I can work further on that)
