09:23 < CIA-4> * changed download archive to use wxWidgets (and not wxPython) source
09:23 < CIA-4> * improved build process to generate gtk and x11 toolkit libraries
09:27 < rxr> mtr: wasn't the python source intenaionl as otherwise the python bindings did not work ?
09:30 < CIA-4> rene * r30938 /trunk/package/xorg/xorg-server/xcfgt2.sh:
09:30 < CIA-4> * fixed xcfgt2 to prefer the new intel driver and only
09:30 < CIA-4> apply the intel*7 match below, as before it matched

09:30 < rxr> ouh
09:30 < rxr> that was from yesterday=
09:30 < rxr> nice lag CIA
09:35 < CIA-4> rene * r30939 /trunk/package/contrib/lcdproc/ (3 files):

09:35 < CIA-4> removed huge already disabled debug(whatever) patch
09:38 < mpp> hey rxr
09:39 < mpp> things are kinda messy with the new kernel
09:39 < mpp> aufs does not build neither the loop-aes
09:39 < mpp> latter was just fixed some days ago for the old kernel
09:40 < mpp> iptraf has trivial bug
09:40 < mpp> you adopted the patch back then mkdir -p $root/var/run/iptraf
09:41 < mpp> due to the /var/run/* beeing wiped upon reboot it's kinda useless, most services create dirs inside var/run at startup but iptraf is no service.
09:42 < mpp> i also checked the iptraf patches - they're outdated - if you agree i'll resync / repatch for the 3.0.1 version
09:42 < rxr> sounds good
09:42 < mpp> okay
09:42 < mpp> could take some time as im at sickbay - heavy 'grippe'
09:42 < mpp> :-()
09:43 < mpp> i also wanted to report that on my amd64 still core dumps and exceptions are the rule
09:43 < mpp> one in particular building gcc at stage5
09:44 < mpp> could this be related to parallel builds ?
09:44 < rxr> apparently only on athlon64 optimizations
09:44 < rxr> no, rather the optimizations
09:44 < mpp> no it's a ordinary 64bit target no opt
09:44 < rxr> I have zero problems with core2 optimizations
09:44 < mpp> k
09:45 < rxr> for various different reasons we have no AMD CPUs (despite Geode) for some years now :-(
09:45 < mpp> okay
09:46 < mpp> thanx
09:46 < rxr> we're now listed on the parrot site: http://www.parrot.org/download
09:47 < rxr> actually all this cross linking is quite a gain in visitor traffic and google ranking, so I usually keep an eye and put some energy into being listed on upstream sites
09:47 < rxr> would be great if others could push that as well :-)

14:35 < Baldzius> moin
14:36 < rxr> hey Baldzius
14:36 < Baldzius> hi rxr
14:38 < CIA-4> aldas * r30967 /trunk/package/develop/subversion/subversion.desc: * removed NOPARALLEL from subversion
14:39 < CIA-4> aldas * r30968 /trunk/package/develop/swig/swig.desc: * removed NOPARALLEL from swig
14:50 < Baldzius> rxr: what do you think, how many parallel jobs people are using these days?
14:50 < Baldzius> for instance bind fails with 16 but builds fine with <=12
14:51 < rxr> then <=12 is just lucky and there is a real bug in the Makefile
14:51 < rxr> I guess these days <=12 is still common
14:52 < Baldzius> myself i use 4 only
14:52 < rxr> well - I use 8
14:53 < Baldzius> so should i leave bind as NOPARALLEL?
14:56 < rxr> depends, what is it currently ?
14:58 < Baldzius> currently it's noparallel
14:59 < rxr> how did you notice? built with PARALLEL=16 ?
15:00 < Baldzius> yes
15:00 < Baldzius> first i did with 8
15:00 < Baldzius> then with 16
15:00 < Baldzius> when it failed tried with 12
15:05 < rxr> just on bind or over all packages to test them ?
15:05 < rxr> well - best would be if it consistently fails with 16 to hunt for the missing dependency in the Makefile and patch the Makefile for real
15:05 < rxr> (though that is often quite ugly to find)
15:07 < Baldzius> I am going through noparallel packages and cheking if they still fail with parallel jobs
15:07 < rxr> neat
15:08 < Baldzius> subversion and swig compiles even with 16 jobs
15:08 < Baldzius> so no need to have them flaged
15:08 < Baldzius> also i've checked them with 8 and 12 jobs
15:08 < rxr> maybe they where checked in the meantime
15:09 < rxr> but as this is timing depended it could still fail sometimes if a dep is missing in the makefile rules and it depends on the actual system timing if the file is accidently created already or not
15:10 < Baldzius> yep but i've tested on couple of machines and minimum 5-6 times
15:11 < rxr> yes, all sounds good :-)
15:11 < rxr> just wanted to point it out
15:11 < rxr> just go ahead
15:12 < Baldzius> so what about bind cause i am not sure what to do
15:12 < Baldzius> i would remove noparallel
15:14 < rxr> yeah - do
15:15 < Baldzius> cool
15:15 < Baldzius> i'll just make a note

20:49 < mpp> i have been digging some dozen articles checking id permission sudo -V etc.etc.
20:50 < mpp> what can possibly prohibit root to access /etc/sudoers ?
20:50 < rxr> maybe it is just hte sudo program itself that check something ?
