03:19 < zygmyster> Anyone here yet?
03:48 < zygmyster> Wow, this channel is dead
03:52 < zygmyster> So what I am wondering is why I can't install GRUB using the 8.0 trunk cd.
03:54 < zygmyster> GRUB looks for the /grub/stage1 file and doesn't find it. It GRUB then gets "Error 2: Bad file or directory type" and quits.
03:57 < zygmyster> I tried running GRUB from /mnt/target/usr/sbin but it will not start. When I type in ./grub-install --root-directory=/boot /dev/sda from there I get "usr/sbin/grub: Not found"
03:58 < zygmyster> This must be telling that the CD is not running grub from that location is is running it in a chroot environment
03:59 < zygmyster> If anyone happens to see this and can help I'll check the iirc logs on teh t2 website for answers. Thanks!

16:05 < mpp> hey rxr
16:06 < mpp> how are you today
16:10 < rxr> within limits .-)
16:13 < mpp> allright
16:13 < mpp> sound okay
16:15 < mpp> i have a quick question though
16:15 < mpp> i set in my custom build some kernel options buld the obviously did not override the packaged one
16:16 < mpp> i used the scripts/Config as usual
16:16 < mpp> the file config/myncf/linux.cfg is created and vaild
16:17 < mpp> but the build kernel has the package default values
16:17 < mpp> am i missing something ?
16:17 < rxr> I do not use the config to set kernel configs too often (guess the last time some years ago)
16:17 < rxr> however I know it works from the target
16:18 < rxr> see target/desktop/kernel.conf*
16:18 < rxr> or in general: l target/*/kernel*
16:18 < mpp> in particular i would like have the CONFIG_MD=y and CONFIG_RAID1=y
16:18 < mpp> ill check right away
16:19 < rxr> I always use the target config so that it's fixed, and people do not have to enter the Config to set it up on every machine
16:20 < mpp> ah yes i used the scripts/Config -cfg mycfg to add the mod's
16:21 < mpp> but they didn't get honoured
16:21 < mpp> in the build itself
16:22 < rxr> I think I did not implement that feature, seldom used stuff tends to sometimes show bugs :-(
16:22 < rxr> if you want to take a closer look patches always welcome
16:23 < rxr> just follow the file and variables names, e.g. with grep, to see where and how they are handled
16:23 < mpp> okay
16:24 < mpp> btw is the bugs.t2-project.org available anytime soon ?
16:24 < rxr> well - depends ...
16:24 < mpp> i got a bunch of bug reports .
16:24 < rxr> heh :-)
16:24 < mpp> on what ?
16:24 < rxr> maybe feed the mailing list for now
16:24 < rxr> do you know a good bug tracking thing?
16:24 < mpp> ahm...
16:24 < rxr> this trac thing did never made me feel comfortable
16:25 < mpp> depends on what the server provides
16:25 < rxr> it was broken in twice and heavily spammed all the time ...
16:25 < mpp> i see
16:25 < rxr> well - our server, we can install whatever ...
16:25 < mpp> so ill check around as i have plenty time now
16:25 < mpp> and report back to you
16:25 < rxr> I just do not want highly insecure stuff ... that even suffers popular site spam from chinese et al. folks ...
16:25 < rxr> well - we used flyspray at rock times and tried trac later
16:25 < mpp> do you need to migrate an existing system ?
16:26 < mpp> mantis comes to mind
16:26 < rxr> it is only down because the berlin uni wanted to have our server removed and since then I had no box that I can throw this insecure python + c hackery on ...
16:26 < mpp> or jira if you keep it opensource
16:26 < mpp> right..
16:26 < rxr> well - I would prefer something not too big, and best not php or python
16:26 < rxr> Lua prefered .-)
16:26 < mpp> i'll check
16:27 < mpp> and be back with an answer - promised !
16:27 < mpp> you do your other stuff :-)
16:27 < rxr> maybe I should just write one as I think there still is no Lua bug tracker :-)
16:28 < rxr> or a sealed VM to re-run this trac thing in ...
16:51 < mpp> a sealed vm sounds god to me since webapps are complex , and with complexity rises failure-probability etc.etc.etc.
16:51 < mpp> we could use a forum software on the other hand
16:52 < mpp> if its for t2-project only
16:53 < rxr> you mean a forum / wiki to manage the bugs
16:54 < CIA-8> rene * r30268 /branches/7.0/package/x11/mesa/ (build.patch config.in mesa.conf mesa.desc no-x86.patch.cross): (log message trimmed)
16:54 < CIA-8> * merged r27498, r28674, r30018, and r30019 (except the versino
16:54 < CIA-8> update therein) from trunk:
16:54 < CIA-8> * set cross compile flag for mesa
16:54 < CIA-8> * added option for other targets than linux-dri like framebuffer
16:54 < CIA-8> and directfb (untested)
16:54 < CIA-8> * fixed mesa to cross compile for regular linux-dri configurations
16:55 < mpp> yep
16:55 < mpp> i know it's odd
16:56 < mpp> but for a single project it's worth - there are good forum-packages e.g. in java which have almost no vuln's ( like 1 / year )
16:58 < mpp> jforum is one of those ..
16:58 < mpp> it's pretty convinient - easy to install /maintain/upgrade
16:58 < mpp> i have been using it for quiet some time
17:01 < rxr> ouhm - java is not really my #1 love either :-(
17:02 < mpp> okay -
17:02 < mpp> for zero-cost there is nothing available wich suits your needs
17:02 < mpp> i know this one :-)
17:02 < mpp> anyways
17:02 < rxr> list sorted by preference: Lua, Ruby, Python, PHP, Perl, ... Java
17:03 < mpp> c00l
17:03 < mpp> python - like trac :-) ?
17:03 < rxr> yeah ... (zur not, ...)
17:04 < rxr> ic I have to re-start trac in some spare VM ...
17:04 < mpp> i guess so
17:04 < mpp> options are limited atm regarding this stuff
17:04 < rxr> though IIR C trac has quite some parts written in C, at least thru this template engine - whatever it's name was
17:06 < mpp> well that's all i can come up with for know
