10:22 < Xor_> hello, I'm triying to download T2 source code from svn server, but I always get an error
10:23 < rxr> wich error ?
10:23 < rxr> or maybe you use the svn:// protocol ?
10:23 < rxr> we recently had to disable that on the server
10:23 < Xor_> cant connect to server http://svn.exactcode.de/trunk
10:24 < rxr> there is a t2/ missin in the URL
10:24 < rxr> try: svn co http://svn.exactcode.de/t2/trunk
10:24 < rxr> do we list the wront URL somewhere ?
10:24 < Xor_> i wrote: svn co http://svn.exactcode.de/t2/trunk
10:25 < rxr> 10:23 < Xor_> cant connect to server http://svn.exactcode.de/trunk
10:25 < Xor_> look the entire sequence:
10:25 < Xor_> svn co -N http://svn.exactcode.de/t2/trunk
10:25 < Xor_> svn: requerimiento PROPFIND falló en '/t2/trunk'
10:25 < Xor_> svn: PROPFIND de '/t2/trunk': no se pudo conectarse al servidor (http://svn.exactcode.de)
10:26 < rxr> Xor_: if you use the correct URL, maybe some proxy in between that does not pass the WEBDAV protocol as used by subversion
10:26 < rxr> you could try using https:// in that case
10:26 < rxr> svn co https://svn.exactcode.de/t2/trunk
10:26 < rxr> https:// should be more likely just passed by PROXY servers to the actual Subversion server
10:26 < Xor_> ok thanks, i go to try
10:27 < Xor_> thanks, now is running !!! XD
10:28 < rxr> ok great
10:28 < Xor_> i was in ceBit, and i met suzanne, you know her?
10:29 < rxr> yes
10:29 < rxr> we're both from exactcode :-)
10:29 < rxr> maybe you meet be too as I was also at the CeBIT
10:30 < elias`> hm. this must be the tenth iteration of progressively changing configs to pinpoint which option causes glibc build to fail
10:31 < elias`> any better way to track where it gives an incompatible switch to gcc?
10:31 < Xor_> i'm Oscar Casamitjana from Spain, i gave her my contact details
10:33 < rxr> elias`: maybe post the build error to some paste server or your http server and we could take a look
10:33 < rxr> elias`: what exactly are you building ?
10:33 < rxr> Xor_: nice to see the first cebit contact appearing here :_)
10:33 < elias`> rxr: was just trying to build a system for the first time
10:35 < elias`> this was some time ago here:
10:35 < elias`> 19:28:08 weird. I was compiling a system from svn head, I got an error which someone else got 9 months ago according to IRC logs found by google.
10:35 < elias`> 19:28:25 glibc doesn't compile due to gcc being passed both -r and -shared
10:35 < elias`> 19:28:51 for the reference, the IRC log in question is http://www.t2-project.org/irclogs/t2-2007-06-18
10:38 < rxr> elias`: ah, thanks missed those irc scollback :-)
10:40 < rxr> elias`: what target and config option did you choose? I'd like to try to reproduce ?
10:41 < elias`> among other things, it was x86 athlon-xp cross-compile from some x86-64 system
10:41 < elias`> I've deleted some of the configs I've used already, but I might have one which still fails
10:45 < rxr> maybe related to the host distribution, what linux flavour do you build on ?
10:46 < elias`> it's debian sid, the config is here btw: http://pastebin.com/m6fe93a82
10:49 < elias`> I tried to run some t2 cd with qemu too, but wouldn't apparently emulate 64-bit x86 properly

11:28 < Baldzius> rxr: svn doesn't work?
11:32 < rxr> .oO
11:36 < rxr> hm
11:36 < rxr> should work again
11:36 < rxr> strange, we did not had such a strangle bdb locking issue for some time now ...
12:26 < elias`> I've now reduced the number of possible erroneous options to two apparently, SDECFG_LD_AS_NEEDED and SDECFG_PIE. the latter seems to be the most likely cause for glibc failing to compile
12:27 < rxr> ah yes,
12:27 < rxr> those are a little fragile
12:27 < rxr> probably it is PIE and we need to change not to mess with it for the glibc build but enable some --enable-pie or so option of glibc's configure

22:26 < jmafc> Hi! first time here, so pls be gentle :-). In the Build Config screen, the Help for Target mentions, among others, Boot, Generic, Minimal and Desktop, but the actual selection screen lists Exact Desktop, Generic System (and Generic Embedded) but no Boot or Minimal. Is that just the Help being out of date?
22:27 < jmafc> also why is it that every time I switch screens (runnning under GNOME term), there's a 5 sec pregnant pause and msgs like the following on the screen:
22:27 < jmafc> INSTALL DYNLIB /home/jma/src/t2/src/Linux-i686/bash/luabash.so
22:27 < jmafc> LUA accelerator (C) 2006 by Valentin Ziegler & Rene Rebe, ExactCODE
22:27 < jmafc> Building src/luabash.so.
22:37 < elias`> I'm not a dev but apparently the code for config wasn't at all built to scale with the number of packages, etc. there are now
22:38 < jmafc> I see ...
22:41 -!- tri [n=tri@p57ADB4C2.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has left #t2 []
22:46 < jmafc> elias`, I assume you've built T2 at least once?
22:47 < elias`> not succesful yet
22:48 < elias`> first had to pinpoint glibc build failure using about 10 iterations of config options to find one which caused it to fail and now perl fails
22:49 < jmafc> am I correct to understand that "Continue on package error after stage 4" means it "aborts if a package build errors *before* stage 4"?
22:49 < jmafc> but I guess you're still at stage 1?
22:52 < elias`> apparently I am. I would agree on that interpretation
22:56 < jmafc> if you don't mind me asking, are you building from T2 or from some other platform?
23:14 < jmafc> more importantly, at what point do you get to choose what packages it will build? I choose Minimalistic package selection but it didn't show me anything further in the Config app. And if I do ./script/Download -list it wants to download 3279 packages!
23:24 -!- hwinkel [n=hwinkel@p54B6AD57.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Read error: 113 (No route to host)]
23:24 < elias`> was looking at other things... I'm building on debian sid on amd64 (cross-compile to x86 though), couldn't get the latest t2 livecd thingy to work in qemu.
23:25 < elias`> I don't currently care about that as I could just later install whatever I need on the new t2 system
23:28 < jmafc> but did you download all the pkgs first or just the ones you thought you needed/wanted?
23:28 < elias`> I didn't specify anything. it downloaded something, not that I care too much at this point
