14:59 < rxr> hi plamen
15:00 < plamen> hi
15:01 < plamen> I have a difficulty to build a target with Build-Target. The dependencies are not automatically resolved
15:01 < rxr> which target ?
15:01 < plamen> custom
15:02 < plamen> based on generic. I needed to add some packages to it
15:02 < plamen> is there a way that the dependencies are detected automatically to each added packet?
15:02 < rxr> well - for a custom target you have to supply all you need in the pkgsel as most custom targets do rather minimal and exotic configurations for which automatically adding anything normally needed would add more than wanted by the target creator
15:02 < rxr> not yet for targets
15:02 < rxr> Emerge-Pkg does for in-system install/update
15:03 < rxr> however we plan to tag the packages's with optional dependencies so the build system can ensure the minimally needed automatically
15:08 < plamen> thanx. I will take a look at it

20:04 < LMJ> Anyone runs ubuntu gusty and tried to reboot on the xen kernel ? I have a black screen, that's all, do you know why ?
20:10 < rxr> not really
20:13 < LMJ> hello rxr
20:13 < rxr> hey LMJ
20:13 < LMJ> Have you ever test to run OSX on xen ?
20:15 < rxr> nope, but I guess only hacked up versions of OS X would run in Xen ?
20:15 < rxr> as it accesses the TPM chip to prevent execution on non-Apple hardware ...
20:18 < LMJ> humm, I'm wondering
20:18 < LMJ> OSX x86 should run on fully virtualized XEN
20:18 < rxr> who says so ?
20:19 < rxr> a non-cracked OS X does check thru the TPM module if it is running on real Apple hardware ..
20:19 < rxr> you have to kernel extension mod that away if you wan to run it on non Apple hardware or virtual machines .-)
20:20 < rxr> LMJ: how comes your interest in OS X ? :-=
20:20 < rxr> )
20:21 < LMJ> I used to run macOsX on a Acer laptop ;)
20:21 < LMJ> trying to find a correct NLE software
20:21 < LMJ> :-/
20:21 < rxr> heh
20:21 < rxr> ok - /me off for a quick dinner - cu then

21:11 < __KERNEL__> hello there
21:12 < sepp> hello __there__
21:13 < __KERNEL__> people, please, someone had some kind of throuble with tar segfaults while compiling T2:
21:13 < __KERNEL__> ?
21:13 < sepp> in an early stage?
21:13 < __KERNEL__> at the stage 0
21:13 < sepp> then it is your hosts tar
21:14 < __KERNEL__> but I've been tested the same line command t2 executes
21:14 < sepp> maybe that is some weird not the real thing?
21:14 < sepp> and then it does not segfault?
21:14 < __KERNEL__> it runs normally
21:15 < __KERNEL__> I've wrotte echoes in the T2 script to see what's happening
21:15 < __KERNEL__> and it's appear to be normal
21:15 < __KERNEL__> but I get sigfault reports
21:16 < sepp> hmmm
21:16 < __KERNEL__> is there any problem with some tar version or anything else?
21:17 < sepp> not that i know of, is it gnu tar?
21:17 < __KERNEL__> yes, it's gnu tar
21:17 < __KERNEL__> 1.16.1
21:18 < sepp> no clue, sorry
21:18 < sepp> maybe someone else has an idea
21:19 < __KERNEL__> ok thank you sepp!
21:19 < __KERNEL__> I'll try and see what I get!!
21:20 < __KERNEL__> I'm thinking about a workaround, extracting everything before and ln that instead of tar
21:20 < __KERNEL__> I'll report the results to help somebody after...
21:20 < __KERNEL__> bye people

23:39 < obsethryl> hello
23:39 < obsethryl> is anyone available?
23:39 < sepp> hello obsethryl
23:40 < obsethryl> is rene around?
23:40 < obsethryl> or anyone of the developers :)
23:40 < sepp> not at this time i would say
23:41 < obsethryl> sepp: would you know where I can reach them?
23:41 < obsethryl> more likely when
23:41 < obsethryl> since email is available, but i wa thinking about IRC
23:42 < sepp> from 9.00-9.00 or so
23:42 < sepp> maybe just ask
23:43 < obsethryl> i don't know all the dev nicks in here so you will have to help me a bit
23:43 < obsethryl> are you one of the devs as well?
23:43 < sepp> i am a bit inactive lately
23:44 < obsethryl> sebastian czech right?
23:44 < sepp> yup
23:45 < sepp> little spy are you? :p
23:45 < sepp> hehe
23:45 < obsethryl> I am interested in doing a technical article related to T2
23:45 < sepp> i know, there is some section on t2-....org
23:45 < sepp> where are you from?
23:46 < obsethryl> athens, greece
23:46 < obsethryl> website: http://lab.obsethryl.eu
23:46 < sepp> i c a lambda
23:46 < sepp> :)
23:47 < sepp> must be about lisp
23:47 < sepp> or just a random greek char
23:47 < obsethryl> stands for logic among other things
23:47 < obsethryl> and lambda calculus
23:47 < obsethryl> and limbic system
23:47 < obsethryl> and the list goes on
23:50 < obsethryl> rxr: ping?
23:51 < obsethryl> anyway, i am interested in doing a rather long article about T2
23:51 < sepp> if you want to chat with rene, chances are higher before 8pm
23:51 < sepp> or so
23:52 < sepp> for some mag?
23:52 < obsethryl> if there is a single individual or group that wishes and has the time for a rather long Q&A regarding technical aspects of the project i would be here
23:52 < obsethryl> for the site i gave you
23:52 < obsethryl> i got more than 700 reads on linuxtoday.com
23:52 < obsethryl> more than 80 comments on osnews.com
23:52 < obsethryl> tuxmachines.org
23:52 < obsethryl> you name it, i got in
23:52 < obsethryl> read a sample article and tell me if the style is sufficient
23:53 < sepp> just ask, if someone is awake you will get an answer
23:53 < obsethryl> ok i will be around for a few
23:53 < obsethryl> sepp: any emails i could use in that page showing you all. I remember rxr
23:54 < sepp> you can write to the list, better than personal mails
23:54 < sepp> also gets archived
23:54 < obsethryl> well, until the article is done, I would prefer not to talk about it in public
23:55 < obsethryl> that is my only policy
23:55 < obsethryl> i consider dev channels an exception to the public openness :)
23:56 < sepp> hehe
23:57 < sepp> but this channel is also archived
23:57 < obsethryl> i know :)
23:57 < obsethryl> CIA-13
23:57 < sepp> that is the svn commit bot
23:58 < obsethryl> in anycase, i would be glad to have a full featured presentation of the T2 system
23:58 < sepp> pr is good
23:58 < sepp> =)
23:59 < obsethryl> seems like you are the only soul alive right now in here
