09:21 < Enqlave> rehi rxr
09:21 < rxr> hi
09:21 < DeeKey> hi
09:24 < DeeKey> rxr, why is Comedi package is built in the first stage? it is marked as stage 5.!
09:38 < rxr> hm
09:38 < rxr> do you mean as single package, or inside linux26 ?
09:49 < DeeKey> as single package
09:49 < DeeKey> Inside linux26 it is also in stage 1
09:51 < DeeKey> i can send you my log http://pastebin.com/m579d09f7
09:51 < DeeKey> UPS, in this build i excluded comedi ...
10:43 < DeeKey> Made a build and tested the system... Init does not work :(
10:45 < DeeKey> I use old pc without HDD. I load the kernel via PIXI, then the kernel loads the file system over NTFS. Appearantly the problem is in busybox...
11:47 < DeeKey> rxr: there is a bug in busybox somewhere!
11:47 < DeeKey> Look at the install log: there is double "//"
11:47 < DeeKey> http://pastebin.com/m410fa12d
11:47 < DeeKey> I mean // in path
11:53 < rxr> the // should not harm :-) but we could hunt this down for log prettiness
11:53 < rxr> try it out -y ou can add as many ////'s for directory seperation aas you want :-)
11:54 < DeeKey> yeh? hmm
11:54 < DeeKey> but still I cannot use INIT!
11:56 < DeeKey> Is there a way in T2 to populate /dev
11:56 < DeeKey> ?
11:57 < rxr> udevstart or so
11:57 < rxr> you use busybox as init ?
11:57 < rxr> it probably is not much pre-configured and you need to place some custom init scripts into your rootfs/
11:57 < DeeKey> yes. I have already reported, that I cannot use other init with busybox
11:59 < DeeKey> how to use this udevstart?
12:00 < rxr> DeeKey: using other init shoudl work
12:00 < rxr> maybe better include sysvinit if you do not want to write some tiny, embedded style init scritps for your target
12:00 < rxr> oh - btw. it is udevtrigger nowadays
12:00 < rxr> so the sequence is:
12:00 < rxr> udevd
12:00 < rxr> udevtrigger
12:00 < rxr> udevsettle
12:01 < rxr> the sysvinit scripts to this by default
12:03 < DeeKey> I suppose there must be examples somewhere ...
12:03 < rxr> for busybox ?
12:04 < DeeKey> for dev generation. Or what did you mean by the sequence?
12:10 < DeeKey> build started... Will go to a bicycle ride..

14:20 < sepp_> ok :)
14:20 < rxr> netson99: you try to build the t2/trunk:HEAD neo1973 target ?
14:21 < rxr> ah 7.0-rc for blackfin
14:21 < rxr> netson99: there was quite some stuff done for Blackfin recently, I think most of it is not in the 7.0-rc
14:21 < rxr> netson99: for Blackfin I would recommend to use t2/trunk
14:21 < rxr> svn co http://svn.exactcode.de/t2/trunk t2-trunk
14:22 < rxr> http://www.t2-project.org/download/
14:22 < rxr> we should indeed spin a 7.0-rc2 very soon :-)
14:23 < netson99> rxr: Ok, thank's for the suggestion, i have already got the svn trunk version, and I will try on it ..
14:27 < netson99> rxr: Can I copy the config and the downloaded files on 7.0-rc to the svn trunk? or I have to start from "Config" in the svn trunk ?
14:29 < rxr> yes - you can copy
14:29 < rxr> but re-run the config
14:29 < rxr> it might switch / update some settings accoridngly
14:29 < rxr> (as in the linux kernel)
14:30 < rxr> the Config has an -old-config if you are not interested in the UI :-)

18:50 < rxr> LMJ: ok
18:50 < rxr> hi pdinoto
18:50 < LMJ> hi pdinoto
18:52 < pdinoto> a quick question, before my wife realizes I am on the computer and yells at me:
18:52 < pdinoto> It is holyday here... :-)
18:52 < pdinoto> why I can select "build binary packages" in rescue target?
18:53 < pdinoto> s/holyday/holiday/
18:54 < rxr> not at all, because the rescue target is designed to run as livecd and thus yields no single package, but a whole livecd ISO at the end
18:55 < happycube> rxr - is there a known good svn rev # for the neo build?
18:55 < pdinoto> if I change SDECFGSET_IMAGE to install, that option would be available?
18:56 < rxr> happycube: the Neo build was just started
18:56 < rxr> it does not yield a booting image, we just have a single phone since just a week
18:57 < happycube> ahhh ok
18:57 < rxr> or do you want to contribute patches :- ?
18:57 < happycube> i can't even get past uclibc
18:57 < happycube> i would if i could compile what's in the tree
18:57 < happycube> ;)
18:57 < rxr> well - that should build
18:57 < rxr> what is the error you get ?
18:57 < happycube> /bin/sh: line 1: 20366 Segmentation fault arm-t2-linux-gnueabi-ld --warn-unresolved-symbols -o /dev/null -b binary /dev/null >/dev/null 2>&1
18:58 < happycube> each time i see that i see "You should not call uname during the build!" directly before
18:58 < happycube> this box is amd64 if that's an issue... i could get an i386 chroot on it tonight
18:58 < rxr> I build on x86-64, likewise
18:58 < rxr> can you upload the full log somewhere ?
18:59 < happycube> yeah
18:59 < happycube> do you want anything other than the error log?
18:59 < rxr> nope, just the .err is good
18:59 < happycube> < total t2 newb
19:02 < rxr> happycube: how did you spot that T2 started a Neo target and why do you try it over the "official" firmware ?
19:03 < happycube> can i email it?
19:03 < happycube> i was doing some googling and kinda stumbled upon it saturday
19:03 < rxr> yesh - just mail to rene @ t2-project . org
19:03 < happycube> and it sounded interesting so i tried to build it :)
19:05 < happycube> sending
19:06 < happycube> also i want to use the neo more as a nokia 770-type device and the default builds aren't really supporting that yet
19:06 < happycube> (i.e. bluetooth data links, web browsing, a sideways 80x25 terminal...)
19:06 < happycube> *and bluetooth keyboard
19:09 < rxr> well - yeah - you do not want to hear my comments to the default images ...
19:09 < rxr> but the t2 images are also not yet there
19:09 < rxr> but quickly could if some people could devote a little time to them
19:13 < happycube> *nod*
19:17 < rxr> oh, you are from that company :-) got some cPCI mezzanine 4 port boards from them for a carrier grade PPC setup ...
19:17 < rxr> (some 2 years ago or so ...)
19:17 < happycube> cool :)
19:17 < happycube> i wish we were still making plain NIC's too... intel has some nice ones we could've used
19:18 < rxr> actually your built went all thru
19:18 < rxr> the "onyl failure" is:
19:18 < rxr> Found shared files with other packages:
19:18 < rxr> usr/include: 00-dirtree uclibc
19:18 < happycube> oooh
19:18 < happycube> how do i clean that up?
19:18 < rxr> the uname is just a reminder from the T2 build system that uname should not be used to determine "host characteristics"
19:18 < happycube> i was looking for previous errors and i figured the segfaults would trip it
19:19 < rxr> and the segfault are from uclibc when the config/make tests out silly things ...
19:19 < happycube> yeah that was a silly invocation
19:19 < rxr> (though normally they do not happen, I think that is a gcc-4.2/arm regression or so ...
19:19 < rxr> but I have them in my log as well
19:19 < rxr> uclibc uses some strange way to install the headers, copy via tar I think
19:19 < rxr> probably your system's tar does something slightly different from others or so
19:20 < rxr> you can "cheat" the T2 system to think the package is all fine now, by touching build/.../var/adm/log/1-uclibc.log for now
19:20 < happycube> ok - i'm on debian etch
19:20 < rxr> I take a look into how uclibc installs the headers to void this stray shared directory in the guture
19:21 < happycube> sounds good
19:24 < happycube> thanks... i think it's moving along now
19:25 < happycube> hopefully i can play with it tonight
19:26 < rxr> .oO
19:26 < rxr> I guess I have to beat someone here to continue with the neo target faster so new fellows have a more pleasuant experience
19:27 < happycube> i'll see what i can do
19:28 -!- Ragnar|away is now known as Ragnarin
19:31 < happycube> ok it's not downloading the openmoko-logo.patch - it dosen't seem necessary ;)
19:31 < happycube> (except that i need to cut it out of the build)
19:37 < rxr> what do you mean with not downloading =
19:40 < happycube> i tried yesterday and today to get it and it 404'd

20:07 < Ragnarin> fine too :)
20:07 < rxr> LMJ: hm - I thought dvd+rwtools would have been fixed already, interesting
20:08 < rxr> depending where jahshaka gets it's from from either the glew package or jahshaka itself needs a FPIC-QUIRK

20:12 < rxr> cu then
20:13 < Ragnarin> cya :)
20:13 < rxr> LMJ: I added the failures to my TODO list
20:13 < rxr> let me know if you solve some of them :-)

20:34 < happycube> *frexp
20:37 < happycube> oh... it's actually failing on building as-new... adding -lm to GASLIBS in objdir/gas makes it work, as expected
