14:59 < tri> who have time and notion to help me with making the ati driver available for t2 ?
15:00 < tri> rxr: ping
15:01 < tri> rxr: can you upload the new 7.0 iso again and split them into two iso's - i don't have any blank CD bigger then 700mb :-)

17:05 < andr01d> Hello people
17:11 < andr01d> If any of you here is not away - I'd like to ask you for help with T2...
17:18 < mtr> hi andr01d, please ask and post your questions, any feedback welcome ;-)
17:19 < andr01d> hey mtr
17:20 < andr01d> i'm cross compiling t2 on a Debian etch host
17:20 < andr01d> for some reason i get the dreaded "cannot find crt1.o" error one the second compilation pass
17:21 < andr01d> I've been digging Google since this morning & all solutions are talking about installing libc6-dev, which was installed before i've started the building
17:22 < andr01d> is there a solution to this?
17:22 < andr01d> i did manage to make it work by symlinking the file from /usr/lib to the location where config script was looking for it - but i'm not sure about how it will affect the build...
17:23 < mtr> what platform are you cross compiling for, and what target did you select?
17:23 < andr01d> embedded
17:23 < andr01d> the platform is pentium-m
17:23 < mtr> t2-7.0-rc1 ?
17:23 < andr01d> oh, another important thing - i'm using t2-6.0.0
17:26 < mtr> I am not sure about 6.0.0 embedded target support, afair it did not work that well ...
17:26 < mtr> there have been a lot of improvement in the last months on the embedded stuff
17:26 < andr01d> oh... so going 7.0-rc1 might be the solution for me?
17:27 < mtr> yes, you should give it a try
17:28 < mtr> you're target cpu is pentium-m ?
17:28 < andr01d> checking out 7.0-rc right this moment
17:28 < andr01d> yeah, it's a Celeron M to be exact
17:29 < andr01d> an SBC fanless platform w/ CelM 900
17:29 < andr01d> are you related to the dev team?
17:30 < mtr> yes, I am mostly building embedded targets with T2
17:30 < andr01d> if/when I succeed I'd like to post a tutorial of building embedded targets on Debian
17:31 < andr01d> so people will experience less pain of all the tiny catches that I've experienced :)
17:34 < andr01d> btw, when is 7.0 planned to go stable? (i'm pretty new to T2, so I don't know about how your release cycles work)
17:37 < mtr> 7.0 is scheduled for this summer, we had 6.0 a year ago
17:37 < andr01d> oh... great pace!
17:38 < andr01d> world needs tools like T2... easy, no-fuss & extremely potent
17:39 < andr01d> hope i'll be able to make it run on the SBC... maybe i'll manage to somehow give back to the community during the proccess too
17:41 < andr01d> LUA accelerator... hmm... that's something new that had'nt been there at 6.0.0
17:42 < andr01d> do you have any 7.0.0 Config recommendations?
17:48 < mtr> if you have to cross compile you should start with the Generic Embedded target, otherwise Generic System with a minimal package preselection
17:49 < andr01d> yeah, that's exactly the strategy I'm using...
17:50 < mtr> I have ccache enabled, that makes rebuilding the target really fast
17:50 < andr01d> How do I add packages to the target after I've managed to cross-compile the base target?
17:50 < andr01d> where do I enable ccache?
17:51 < andr01d> oh, getting it installed, was not aware of it's existance :-O
17:52 < andr01d> do I need to change something in Config menues to make T2 use it?
17:53 < sepp_> you need to enable the ccache package and then you get an option - under export options i think
17:53 < sepp_> expert*
17:55 < mtr> oh well, the Generic Embedded does not have ccache enabled, therefore the option is not shown
17:55 < andr01d> oh...
17:55 < andr01d> will export CC="ccache gcc" work?
17:57 < sepp_> enable it and set the option ;)
17:57 < andr01d> is there any reason to build the JAVA compiler if I do not plan to use Java?
17:57 < sepp_> no
17:58 < mtr> the SDE automatically handles all the environment settings for ccache, setting it manually does not work
17:58 < andr01d> seen Java bring down multi-CPU 32GB+ RAM machines down to their knees... certainly don't want it to get it's way with my celeron 900! :)
17:58 < andr01d> *java applications
18:00 < andr01d> well, thanks for your help, guys (gals?)!
18:00 < andr01d> something tells me we'll meet here again ;)
18:01 < andr01d> have a great day (night?)
18:01 < sepp_> cu :)
18:01 < mtr> cu - feel free to post your experiences and success stories ;-)
18:03 < andr01d> haha :) definetly will... I'm determined to write the "T2 cross compilation under Debian4.0 - The full guide" ;)
18:03 < andr01d> good bye, again
