00:06 < _Lewellyn> re mnemoc
00:06 < mnemoc> hi _Lewellyn
00:11 < jeru> wb mnemoc
00:12 < mnemoc> jeru: is that the only missing change to make shared-mime-crap built on the first run'
00:14 < jeru> mnemoc: first it failed ... but after repriorizing libxml I ran .-newdelete and rebuilded bot succesfully
00:14 < mnemoc> i did the same before :)
00:15 < jeru> hmmm ... now i remember ... :)
00:15 < jeru> btw, nvrec is outdated ... I'll update it in trunk
00:17 < mnemoc> i updated it

00:18 < mnemoc> do you want to fix it? :)
00:19 < jeru> yes .... same error .... no I don't want to fix it :)
00:20 < mnemoc> add the issue to the bug tracker

00:25 < jeru> _Lewellyn: cool ... it seems that you had a good lense, to watch mnemoc fly in outer space :)
00:27 < jeru> mnemoc: don't do any nasty ... you know my friend besides me is waiting for you ...
00:28 < jeru> mnemoc: have you added libquicktime to your working copy too ?
00:28 * mnemoc is silent
00:28 < mnemoc> jeru: uhm?
00:28 < jeru> I think nvrec needs it
00:29 < jeru> it's not available as package within t2 yet
00:29 < jeru> I can commit it but prio has to be adjusted
00:29 < mnemoc> ajust it
00:33 < jeru> mnemoc: but so far it doesn't fixed the problem :/
00:34 < mnemoc> i have a copy of divx4linux-20020418 if you want to fix it :)
00:35 < mnemoc> it's just changing it to use the right #define-s
00:35 < CIA-9> chris * r9349 /trunk/package/multimedia/libquicktime/ (. libquicktime.desc): * added libquicktime (0.9.7)
00:36 < jeru> mnemoc: no thanks ... I've to setup an issue tracking ;)

01:36 < valentin> dccs ? wasn't that some kind of haiku ? *g*
01:37 < valentin> iirc it could have been t-shirt artwork, too
01:38 < mnemoc> direct client to client protocol :p
01:39 < mnemoc> i think i'll move nvrec to attic
02:17 < keinek> hey guys
02:17 < keinek> how i can download any file with "Download" script?
02:18 < keinek> I was try to create a new package, and mnemoc said me that Download do the download and checksum at same time.
02:46 < valentin> keinek: you have to write a desc file
02:47 < valentin> for example take a look at package/base/stress/stress.desc
02:47 < valentin> there is the [D] tag which determines what file there is to download
02:47 < valentin> the number at the beginning of that line is the cksum
02:48 < valentin> if you write your own package, just place 0 in there, type ./scripts/Download
02:48 < valentin> then type ./scripts/Create-CkSumPatch to get the checksum

03:39 < _Lewellyn> mnemoc: fyi, new nvidia drivers came out jun 1 :)
03:42 < mnemoc> _Lewellyn: update locally, test it and send a patch :)
03:43 < _Lewellyn> heh. i still can't get the t2 livecd to boot on that box, so i haven't moved my drives over and installed t2 at all :)
03:44 < mnemoc> why 'so'?
03:44 < mnemoc> you don't need livecd to build T2
03:45 < _Lewellyn> well, my current machine is underpowered even for my day-to-day work.
03:46 < _Lewellyn> and if the livecd boots, then i can be sure that the machine is compatible with t2 in some form :)
03:48 < mnemoc> :)
03:50 < mnemoc> sun-jdk-142's javac gets confused if .jar file has classes compressed as ./foo instead of just foo

03:51 < _Lewellyn> you'd think sun would have their act together by now :(
03:52 < mnemoc> i'll try to fix bdb-java to produce sun-friendly .jar files

07:40 < jsaw> g'morning
07:40 < rxr> google replied to my mail regarding the summer code thing - see the list
07:40 < rxr> moin jsaw
07:40 < jsaw> hi rxr
07:43 < madtux> checking
07:43 < jsaw> rxr: I have a question 'bout elf/static/dynamic: If I create a static binary that uses dlopen for loading a module, do I have to compile the static program with -fPIC?
07:43 < rxr> 4.0% us, 1.7% sy, 0.0% ni, 0.0% id, 93.1% wa, 1.0% hi, 0.3% si
07:43 < rxr> ^- this box needs more RAM ...
07:44 < rxr> jsaw: uh - that are interesting details
07:44 < rxr> I would say only the libraries you dlopen
07:44 < jsaw> rxr: and what's about linking a .a lib into a .so lib? I guess here, the .a lib must be compile with -fPIC...?
07:45 < rxr> yep - all the individial .o files in the .a must be -fPIC
07:54 < _Lewellyn> Cpu0 : 10.0% us, 54.7% sy, 35.0% ni, 0.3% id, 0.0% wa, 0.0% hi, 0.0% si

07:54 < _Lewellyn> i don't know what i need :(
07:55 < jsaw> :p
07:58 < rxr> _Lewellyn: in my stats the cpu is mostly in i/o wait ... not doing much ...
07:59 < rxr> _Lewellyn: why is your system load so high? software raid or so ?
08:04 < _Lewellyn> no. 4 VMs
08:04 < _Lewellyn> this is still the dual 550MHz box :(
08:04 < _Lewellyn> 23:04:51 up 20 days, 4:21, 35 users, load average: 6.35, 6.86, 5.08
08:06 < _Lewellyn> my memory use is terrible too :)
08:11 < rxr> well - not that I know the box is more stable then I tought I might add the other two 64MB chunks back ...
08:12 < rxr> they need ECC and REGISTERED older DIMS - that are not too ceap today ...
08:12 < rxr> DIMMs ... even
08:15 < _Ragnar__> rxr: you do embedded stuff?
08:15 < rxr> yep
08:15 < _Ragnar__> on what hardware?

08:16 < rxr> well - so far mostly PowerPC - including compact PCI planes from Motorola
08:16 < _Ragnar__> ah ok
08:17 < _Ragnar__> ever messed with a soekris?
08:17 < _Lewellyn> i keep meaning to learn ppc assembler
08:17 < _Lewellyn> soekris++
08:17 < rxr> but the hardware does not really matter - due to the recompile knob in T2 ,-)
08:17 < rxr> _Ragnar__: nope - so far only saw then - not used them - but the OpenBSD people seem to support them quite happily
08:17 < rxr> thus the hardware might be reasonable
08:17 < _Ragnar__> :)
08:18 < _Ragnar__> I'm thinking about getting one
08:18 < _Ragnar__> ever heard of a hw with the amd alchemy cpu?
08:18 < _Lewellyn> a lot of freebsd and netbsd folks like the soekris stuff too
08:19 < _Lewellyn> i see them everywhere due to where i live, so i can say first-hand that they're neat
08:19 < _Ragnar__> =)
08:20 < _Ragnar__> ok
08:21 < _Ragnar__> no alchemy tho?
08:21 < rxr> do they run fully with Linux? this custom MIPS core ?
08:21 < _Lewellyn> i know nothing of the alchemy
08:22 < _Lewellyn> what is it?
08:22 < _Lewellyn> mips?
08:22 < _Ragnar__> it's supposed to run with linux, at least due to their website
08:23 < rxr> _Ragnar__: if you order them I would take one, too ,-)
08:24 < rxr> The development board kits are immediately available at $1995 each.
08:24 < rxr> oh - ok - that one not ..
08:24 < _Lewellyn> canadian dollars, i'd hope ;)
08:24 < _Ragnar__> *lol* that's the problem yea
08:25 < _Ragnar__> that's almost a complete pc tho (the devel board)
08:27 < _Lewellyn> does amd still make those cute little 386 systems?
08:27 < _Lewellyn> forget what they called them
08:27 < _Lewellyn> but they were tiny
08:27 < _Lewellyn> about the size of 2 packs of cigs
08:27 < rxr> yep those Geode thing
08:27 < rxr> they reack a 1Ghz with those these days ..
08:27 < _Lewellyn> 1GHz 386s? wow.
08:27 < rxr> well - they are not exactly 386 anymore
08:28 < _Lewellyn> oh
08:28 < _Lewellyn> it's kind of amusing. i'm finding pc104 interesting again.
08:28 < _Ragnar__> the newer geode are 586

08:31 < _Lewellyn> that doesn't make it right. they're commercial. commercial has TWO tlds. why does it need a third?
08:31 < rxr> because sex is such a XXXXX huge ammount of money ...
08:31 < rxr> did I mention money already?

19:33 < rxr> name it install if you like
19:34 < mnemoc> isn't desktop designed to be installed and livecd to run live?
19:36 < rxr> well ,-)
19:36 < rxr> they will melt together
19:36 < rxr> in fact I consider dropping desktop altogether
19:37 < rxr> the best (in my eyes - for a state of the ard desktop OS) is to preview as live version - and only optionally install later on, if all the hardware works and the user is totally satisfied
19:37 < rxr> thus live - and thus most probably the drop of desktop if live and the graphical installer are ready ...
19:37 < rxr> mnemoc: btw. we also have the old/historic dRock installer if we need borrow code for a next gen installer
19:38 < rxr> we could cut'n paste the best parts of bize, dRock-1.6 and gas-gui together - for a quick prototype ...
19:38 < mnemoc> restricting power to just one target goes against SDE concept... imo
19:38 < rxr> e.g. gas-gui was also kind of a usability nightmare IMO ...
19:38 < mnemoc> making livecd and desktop share the power let other desktop targets to use it
19:39 < rxr> mnemoc: a good desktop live system does not stand against sharing with multiple others
19:39 < rxr> but a good installer is a prerequesit of a good live cd ...
19:39 < mnemoc> the good installer must be a package

19:40 < rxr> and that I might get a contract to create a live installable CD for a .ch company that wants to have a linux based scan server solution will contribute to the fact that the live/desktop will be a good base for spin-off targets
19:40 < rxr> mnemoc: sure - I did not say that is must not - I only wrote, that we could consider cut'n pasting the code of the three historic rock and alike installers to prototype our next gen one ...
19:41 < rxr> and of cours - as valentin's netconf GUI it will be a package ,-)
19:41 < rxr> rehi jeru
19:41 < rxr> so - me is soon off - but online again thereafter when I arrived @ susan ...
19:41 < jeru> oh! hot discussions ?
19:41 < rxr> jeru: nope ,-)
19:42 < rxr> mnemoc: I just started to track the loop mounting issue
19:42 < rxr> I continue when I'm in susan's kitchen ...
19:42 < mnemoc> rxr: thanks :)
19:42 < rxr> you can assume a fix this evening
19:43 < rxr> mnemoc: btw. I noticed there is no lzo comand line tool - I wanted .tar.lzo as package format optoin
19:43 < rxr> option
19:43 < mnemoc> define evening is a delta of hours ;)
19:43 < mnemoc> in*
19:43 < rxr> if you spot a tiny lzo comandline compressor uncompressor, please keep me informed ,-)
19:43 < rxr> mnemoc: next 4 hours
19:43 < mnemoc> rxr: where tar.lzo can be desired?
19:43 < rxr> but first I need to cycle <15min to susan
19:44 < rxr> mnemoc: quick ref builds where I do not want to spend ages for the .bz compression ,-)
19:44 < mnemoc> rxr: i think we should use lzo for var/adm stuff
19:44 < rxr> for any file ?
19:44 < mnemoc> yes
19:44 < jeru> rxr: you know, don't drink and drive! ;)
19:44 < rxr> ouhm
19:45 < rxr> well without tools ahand .lzo is a bit unhandy (compared to zgrep or so ..)
19:45 < rxr> and many files are already smaller than the FS block size - so you would not gain much ...
19:45 < mnemoc> mine replacemente should do that
19:45 < rxr> aside complexity in the scripts to decompress ...
19:45 < mnemoc> libt2packages.so :p
19:45 < rxr> you mean on your fs in / - or in the binry package ?
19:46 < mnemoc> fs
19:46 < rxr> like /var/adm is lzo compressed and the rest bz2 or so ...
19:46 < rxr> mnemoc: hm
19:46 < rxr> many files are already below the block size threshhold ...
19:46 < mnemoc> tar.lzo can be valid for small but live machines
19:46 < mnemoc> rxr: 386 with minix? ;)
19:47 < rxr> mnemoc: ?
19:47 < mnemoc> i'm thinking even in T2/elks
19:47 < mnemoc> as a living machine, with install, uninstall and updates
19:48 < rxr> 1388 out of 6893 are below the FS block size on my development athlon
19:49 < rxr> above I mean
19:49 < rxr> damn
19:49 < rxr> 1388 out of 6893 are bigger than 4kB ...
19:49 < rxr> mnemoc: do you use elks ?
19:49 < mnemoc> uhm... yes...
19:49 < mnemoc> rxr: i want to
19:50 < mnemoc> rxr: i have many ia16 machines
19:50 < rxr> and you want to roll T2 elks in those companies ... ?
19:50 < mnemoc> :p
19:50 < rxr> in which time frame ?
19:51 < mnemoc> i don't have time frames for projects in this moment
19:51 < mnemoc> just dreaming
19:51 < mnemoc> even as a social project
19:52 < mnemoc> there are many ia16 machines abandoned, and elks fails because it is too much work to maintain a distribution for they
19:53 < mnemoc> T2/elks can easily be sponsored by unesco
19:53 < mnemoc> i think
19:54 < mnemoc> currently i just worry about finishing 2.1.0 to release my mind and about bringing food to home
19:55 < mnemoc> but tar.lzo made me think about that
19:55 < mipe> hmm whats the rsync url for livecd, i already burned the one from http/ftp so i will test that in few secs
19:55 < valentin> mnemoc: you stopped making a living for t2 ? .oO
19:55 < mnemoc> valentin: i stopped making a living
19:56 < mnemoc> valentin: i failed on 3 of my 4 projects related to T2
19:56 < mnemoc> valentin: and i'm about to fail on the forth
19:56 < mnemoc> valentin: today i'll know
19:56 < jeru> mnemoc: oh! what will happen today ?
19:58 < mnemoc> jeru: the machines which join my samba-ldap domain at conosur fail to run the CIFS based app they use from win2003 server
19:58 < mnemoc> jeru: so today that win2003 will join the domain to see if that solves the problem
19:59 < jeru> oh! I guess it's a "special" app wriitten for/from them
19:59 < mnemoc> jeru: samba >3.0.10 is highly broken and unstable
19:59 < jeru> mnemoc: sh*t
19:59 < mipe> OOOOOh nice, t2 live running @ amd64 32bit mode
20:00 < mnemoc> jeru: is an international app written for insurance companies rented in lots of dollars
20:00 < mnemoc> jeru: designed for ooold novell enviroments
20:00 < jeru> mnemoc: oh! I can imagine the pain!
20:01 < jeru> mnemoc: but what's the problem with samba ?
20:01 < mnemoc> jeru: instead of using a DBMS they move .dat files across the lan... sucks
20:02 < mnemoc> jeru: they implemented a new privilegdes schema which is not yet usrmgr.exe friendly and VFS is also buggy
20:02 < jeru> mnemoc: holy sh*t .... I know what you're talking about. we had a similar problem at work
20:02 < mnemoc> jeru: just openning the file searcher window makes explorer.exe crash
20:03 < jeru> mnemoc: hmmmm... that's indeed "unstable"
20:04 < mnemoc> here, at formal work i have a 3.0.10 running fine clipper apps but when i updated to {11,12,13,14,14a} they crash on exec because samba fail to create it's temporal files
20:05 < mnemoc> i files on their bugzilla six bugs with .pcap included which has been ignored
20:06 < mnemoc> i filed*
20:06 < jeru> mnemoc: :/
20:08 < mipe> so livecd is working on amd 64 +3000 with nvidia gforce 5200 fx, only problem was that i had to manually dhcp my nic card
20:08 < jeru> mnemoc: long time ago, that I installed a samba server ... but this sounds like, that I don't want to touch it again!
20:08 < mipe> and not getting any ip from it... thats strange,i'll try this laptop now
20:08 < mnemoc> jeru: 3.0.10 works fine... but you can only have one administrator... mapped to root posix account
20:09 < jeru> mipe: run lspci and check if the right nic module is loaded
20:10 < jeru> mnemoc: hmmm ... on my long term todo is an OpenAFS test intended for a samba replacement
20:11 < mnemoc> "Well, my idea is remove the divx codec from nvrec package. The idea is
20:11 < mnemoc> use xvid or ffmpeg as mpeg4 codec, but now I'm a bit busy to do so..."
20:11 < jeru> mnemoc: ack
20:13 < mnemoc> if the author said that, i'll disable divx support here and only worry about gcc34 problems
20:14 -!- mipe [~who@dsl10040.japo.fi] has quit ["reboot"]
20:16 < jeru> mnemoc: yep
21:12 < rxr> re
21:19 < mnemoc> can i die if i just eat cocacola?
21:20 < mnemoc> i have a cocacola machine here and a cold/hot water machine... i guess cocacola is more 'nutritive' than mineral water
21:20 < rxr> I doubt it is healty ...
21:20 < mnemoc> i know... but how harmfull can it be?
21:20 < jeru> rxr: ack
21:20 < jeru> mnemoc: you should take water
21:21 < mnemoc> i'll try to get some sugar for it...
21:21 < jeru> mnemoc: too much white suggar isn't good anyway ;)
21:21 < jeru> mnemoc: nooooo! ;)
21:21 < mnemoc> i have to get suggar first :p
21:21 < jeru> no
21:21 < rxr> .oO
21:22 < _Lewellyn> jeru: they make it with white sugar there?
21:22 < rxr> I tought you only want to tkae chocolate ...
21:22 < _Lewellyn> i envy you
21:22 < rxr> if you take a bit it will be fine ...
21:22 * rxr shortly away again
21:22 < _Lewellyn> we have ours with nasty corn syrup.
21:22 < rxr> damn - is that line lagging ...
21:22 < rxr> ouhm
21:22 < rxr> btw. I just upddate mysql
21:23 < mnemoc> rxr: updating mysql always brings regressions
21:24 < jeru> _Lewellyn: I don't drink neither cola ... nor anything else from coke company
21:26 < jeru> _Lewellyn: who tries to sell water they go from the Thames as minerall water in the UK can't be serios anyway
21:27 < _Lewellyn> haha. they sell aquafina there, too?
21:28 < _Lewellyn> or is it dasani? one's coke, one's pepsi. i never remember more than "tap water" ;)
21:28 < jeru> _Lewellyn: afaik the had to stop selling that sh*t
21:28 < jeru> they
21:28 < _Lewellyn> i wish that were the case here. :(
21:30 < jeru> _Lewellyn: who wonders now about the hight concentration of prozac in the Thames too ;)
21:30 < mnemoc> hehe
21:31 < valentin> hi _Lewellyn
21:32 < valentin> and hi jeru btw :)
21:32 < jeru> mnemoc: the government is feeding it's "working bees" with all what they need McD. + Coke + Prozac = dull
21:32 < jeru> hi valentin
21:33 < mnemoc> o_O
21:33 < _Lewellyn> hoi valentin
21:33 < _Lewellyn> jeru: that sounds a lot like here...
21:33 < _Lewellyn> but we have more choices of drugs.
21:34 < jeru> _Lewellyn: where are yor come from ?
21:34 < valentin> jeru: you forgot about the tv
21:35 < jeru> valentin: I just left it for you ;)
21:39 < _Lewellyn> jeru: i'm in the usa
21:41 < jeru> _Lewellyn: hmmmm ... ok, now I know, that you've experience ;)
21:47 < _Lewellyn> my plan is to be out of this country within 5 years. i really hope europe stops trying to emulate us :(
21:47 < _Lewellyn> else, i'll be forced to choose from fewer possibilities
21:48 < mnemoc> china :)
21:48 < jeru> _Lewellyn: ack ...but it's no emulation! it's the same!
21:48 < mnemoc> cloning
21:49 < jeru> mnemoc: you know, I'd prefer other countries ...;)
21:50 < mnemoc> jeru: which?
21:51 < mnemoc> the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence
21:52 < jeru> mnemoc: I've waited for such a saying from you :)
21:52 < mnemoc> why??
21:54 < jeru> mnemoc: because you're a master in that :)
21:54 < jeru> anyway ... you're right ;)
21:55 < rxr> re
21:56 < rxr> hm - on my iBook compiling mysql, the top code run is:
21:56 < mnemoc> jeru: a master saying 'sayings'?
21:56 < rxr> samples| %|
21:56 < rxr> ------------------

21:56 < rxr> 33080 1.7441 bash
21:57 < jeru> mnemoc: I mean, I like places with nice people not the ones where the most are brainwashed and apathetic
21:57 < jeru> mnemoc: yes ... I guess you know a lot of them
21:58 < mnemoc> we all want to find neverland, but i doubt we get there
21:59 < jeru> mnemoc: ack
21:59 < valentin> _Lewellyn: how about canada ?
21:59 < valentin> s/how/what
22:00 < mnemoc> valentin: which side?
22:00 < jeru> valentin: canada depends on the US too much I think
22:00 < valentin> whatever side you like best
22:05 < mnemoc> jeru: sure?
22:05 < jeru> mnemoc: quite sure ...
22:05 < mnemoc> :(
22:06 < valentin> basicaly each economy is emulating us because the multinational cooperations want it so
22:07 < mnemoc> what is so wrong on your constitution proposal?
22:07 < jeru> but it doesn't matter to run away, the face of the self destructive imperialism will follow you
22:07 < rxr> the EU ?
22:07 < CIA-9> rene * r9385 /trunk/package/database/mysql/mysql.desc: * updated mysql (4.1.10a -> 4.1.12)
22:07 < valentin> it is _no_ constitution
22:07 < rxr> mnemoc: the EU constituion is likely to be dropped (for now)
22:08 < valentin> it is a complicated 600 pages document
22:08 < valentin> a constitution should be something even a child can understand
22:08 < rxr> valentin: btw. t
22:08 < rxr> hat is not quite right
22:08 < valentin> rxr: the page count ?
22:08 < rxr> this tiny map does not only include the constitution - but also interpretatin, protocl and whatever
22:09 < rxr> and it is nto 600p ...
22:09 < rxr> but I have not yet start to read it in details
22:09 < jeru> rxr: let's see what the EU promoting companies will try to let EU constitution pass through, even if some countries have denied it
22:09 < jeru> they announced sth like that ...
22:12 < valentin> hm, the full version was removed from the offical server ?
22:12 < valentin> http://europa.eu.int/constitution/print_en.htm
22:13 < mnemoc> i was expecting a .doc :)
22:13 < _Ragnar__> *lol*
22:13 < rxr> a doc with black boxes and read text underneath ...
22:13 < rxr> and a lot of undo data ,-)
22:13 < mnemoc> :)
22:14 < _Ragnar__> the problem with the constitution is that it makes the EU even more anti-democratic and gives the country governments way too much power
22:14 < mnemoc> http://europa.eu.int/constitution/summary_en.htm
22:15 < valentin> hm, and the numbering of articles in part III does not follow the contents listing of part III ?!
22:16 < valentin> it says part III chapter 2 == Economic and Monetary poliicu
22:16 < valentin> s/u/y
22:16 < valentin> but part III chapter 2 == security/defense ?
22:16 < _Ragnar__> *g*
22:17 < jeru> valentin: what a defense ? :)
22:20 < jeru> .oO( didn't knew that we've a border to afghanistan )o
22:20 < _Ragnar__> you know, all those snooping on the citizens and stuff
22:21 < valentin> and they could have used page numbers in the table of contens
22:21 < valentin> my problem is there is too much "law"-level stuff in it
22:21 < valentin> just skim over the toc in part 3
22:21 < valentin> i mean it is ok to have common policy agreements on - for example - public transportation, but wtf has this to do with a constitution ?
22:22 < _Ragnar__> nothing really
22:23 < jeru> seems that the corporate capitalism don't trust its own rules
22:24 < _Ragnar__> no honor amount thieves
22:24 < jeru> hehe ... ack
22:25 < valentin> hmm:
22:26 < valentin> "member states shall, [....], encourage the echange of young workers"
22:26 < valentin> exchange even
22:26 < valentin> do they mean exchange between nations or 'replace' ? *g*
22:27 < jeru> valentin: poor young ALGII workers for forced labour I guess
22:29 < valentin> hm, "prohibition on making the human body and its parts as such source of financial gain"
22:29 < valentin> that would apply to popstars and p0rn, tooo
22:30 < valentin> interessting: read the protection of personal data section
22:31 < valentin> Article II-68 1
22:31 < valentin> otto should vote "no" for constitution
22:33 < valentin> scientific research shall be free to constraints
22:33 < valentin> oth they restrict genome work before
22:38 < valentin> Article II-101 3 : does this apply for software patents, too ?
22:40 * rxr is curious if X will come up in 64bit mode on the SPRAC ...
22:40 < valentin> II-111 ff is much restriction of the citicen rights
22:41 * valentin stoping reading
22:42 < rxr> == 22:41:35 =[5]=> Building www/firefox [1.0.4 2.2.0-alpha].
22:42 < rxr> -> JAVA_HOME set to blackdown-jdk
22:42 < rxr> ???
22:43 < mnemoc> parse-config
22:43 < mnemoc> you have a JAVA available, parse-config set the vars to let package use it
22:44 < rxr> mnemoc: did the loop mount on debug work when we forked off of rock ?
22:44 < _Ragnar__> rxr: how do I install/update a package and all it depends on?
22:44 < mnemoc> rxr: looking at the code i guess not
22:45 < rxr> _Ragnar__: from source? Emerge pkg
22:45 < rxr> that checks deps, too
22:45 < mnemoc> _Ragnar__: you can use 'mine' to query a package (.gem) for it's dependencies
22:46 < rxr> mnemoc: does it work in ROCK trunk:HEAD ?
22:46 < rxr> mnemoc: how do we wanna fix it - duplicate the loop et all code into the debug.sh wrapper ?
22:46 < _Ragnar__> it doesn't for me O_O
22:47 < mnemoc> rxr: the deep problem is not mounting... is umounting
22:47 < rxr> you mean it should not be unmounted ?
22:48 < mnemoc> rxr: it shall be
22:48 < rxr> mnemoc: more words please - I can not follow
22:48 < rxr> so shall not be unmounted?
22:48 < mnemoc> i added mount code insde debug.sh
22:48 < rxr> as I wrote some lines up? ...
22:48 < mnemoc> exiting it didn't umount (because i forgot to add that code)
22:49 < mnemoc> and Cleanup didn't saw the mount and remove my whole tree
22:49 < mnemoc> i mean, adding code to mount is easy
22:49 < mnemoc> but adding safe code to umount is not
22:50 < rxr> hm - I could continue looking into it tomorrow
22:50 < mnemoc> i think Cleanup should umount every mount point on the path before removing files :)
22:50 < rxr> but it must be remounted on demand in debug.sh - since I want to have it working when my box powers down in the night and I want to debug it in the morning ...
22:50 < mnemoc> blind logic
22:50 < rxr> mnemoc: yep - or that
22:51 < rxr> cu - me sleeping
22:51 < mnemoc> debug.sh: mount, chroot, umount and safer Cleanup script
22:51 < mnemoc> i wonder how did we never noticed on rock
22:51 < mnemoc> loop thing was there almost a year before the fork
22:51 < mnemoc> cu rxr
