07:05 < rxr> re
07:05 < rxr> hm - my DSL did not reconnect in the night ...
07:07 < rxr> anyway - moin ;-)
07:08 < rxr> wow - I can now click any window transparent ...
08:32 -!- blindcod1r is now known as blindcoder
08:32 < blindcoder> moin
08:34 < rxr> moin
08:36 < blindcoder> moin rxr, how is it?
08:37 < rxr> what?
08:37 < blindcoder> everything \
08:37 < blindcoder> :-)
08:38 < rxr> hehe - well, macosx sucks majorly ...
08:38 < rxr> the USB stuff even more then in linux ... :-(
08:38 < rxr> but the rest is all right
08:38 < rxr> a bit overworked due to linux world expo heading up ...
08:38 < blindcoder> what's the problem with USB?
08:38 < blindcoder> I only had a problem once because of my own mistake
08:39 < blindcoder> yeah, that's an awful lot of work I think
08:40 < rxr> that the damn USB state machine in the kernel crashes on every package here and there it does not like, maybe?
08:40 < rxr> also the UHCI driver is just shit - half of the drivers do not work with it ...
08:40 < rxr> but execpt that ...
08:40 < rxr> but on macosx the usb subsystem locks up even easier, sooo Linux is not that bad ...
08:40 < rxr> I even managed to freeze the damn osx kernel yesterday ...
08:41 < rxr> the screen is dimmed then and a graphical information in 4 or 5 languages is blended in that notes that "the system is froozen and needs to be restarted" or so ;-)
08:41 < rxr> so at lesat it is a graphical way to panic ...
08:43 < blindcoder> wow ;-)
08:44 < rxr> for some scanners I adapt my driver to I need to reboot linux on every driver adaption round due to locked up usb subsystem of linux ...
08:44 < blindcoder> well, my main problem was creating mountpoints for usb-sticks and hds on the fly
08:44 -!- martin [~martin@brln-d9ba1ed1.pool.mediaWays.net] has joined #t2
08:44 < blindcoder> but I made a booboo that caused rm -rf /mnt/ on occassion :/
08:44 < rxr> why the hell does the libusb CVS wants X ...
08:44 < martin> moin
08:44 < blindcoder> moin martin
08:44 < martin> hi blindcoder rxr
08:45 < rxr> hm - with my hacked configure libusb CVS compiles without X, too ...
08:46 < blindcoder> argh, xscreensaver still needs tho old gtk+12
08:46 * rxr going to reboot osx, since the usb subsystem is locked up for both of my usb ports ...
08:49 < rxr> re
08:49 < blindcoder> wb
08:54 < rxr> hm - ok - new test scan ...
08:54 < rxr> annoying that even with just sending two simple usb packages the usb subsystem still get's confused from time to time ...
09:00 < rxr> yeah yeah yeah
09:00 < rxr> got a successful scan out of the Avision scanner under macosx ..
09:00 < rxr> although it is for some very strange reason dog slow ... - and the usb subsystem sometimes get's confused on very simple packages in the beginning of the communication ...
09:02 < rxr> hm - cool - at least the Apple integration preview applicatoin has a cool graphical representation of the selection ...
09:03 < rxr> ~$ du -csh avision.*
09:03 < rxr> 158M avision.log
09:03 < rxr> 30M avision.tiff
09:03 < rxr> 189M total
09:04 < rxr> shit - just forgot how ugly vi is implemented and opened a 158MB file with it ...
09:07 < blindcoder> ouch
09:10 < rxr> /t2 in my osx get's more populated each day ....
09:11 < blindcoder> :)
09:54 < rxr> shit
09:54 < rxr> it was not too smart to place my own stuff into /t2 ...
09:54 < blindcoder> such a hard word for such a soft mass :)
09:54 < rxr> now I can not select it in Xcode for inclusion ...
09:56 < rxr> this osx and xcode get the hell out of me ...
09:57 < rxr> how can an semii automated tool be so stupid not to find it's own Carbon/Carbon.h ...
09:58 < rxr> damn hell - I added the damn Carbon.framwork to the External Frameworks and Libraries - what else does this damn piece of crap want ...
10:01 < rxr> more annoying is that it works in my other test project ...
10:01 < rxr> ok so:
10:02 < rxr> - write a new USB stack
10:02 < rxr> - write a new OS
10:02 < rxr> - write a new editor
10:02 < rxr> or so ..
10:02 < rxr> for point first, redesign C++ and do not allow s.th. else in that newOS
10:04 < rxr> at least i was able to add /t2 ...
10:04 < rxr> so my own SANE stuff works - and the damn carbon crap shipped with osx does not - wonderful ...
10:05 < rxr> I think I get off to the bakery and do a 2nd breakfast before I continue to look at this crap ...
10:07 < rxr> hm - and there is a signal not correctly connected in xcode - when the external frame and lib stuff is changed the gui representation is not updated ... - how annoying - I thoght osx is about godd visualization and usability ...
10:14 < rxr> what the hell?!?!?! my other exampel test does compile, even why I remove the carbon framework from the external framework lists ...
10:14 < rxr> oh my :-(
10:20 < rxr> .oO(this shit fucking crap ...)
10:21 < rxr> it did not worked because the project file contained "cross compile for 10.3" - after changing to "current" it worked ...
10:21 < rxr> althought I have no clue what the difference should be since i run 10.3 ...
10:22 < rxr> hey - but to say s.th. good - the error message indication in the source browser is cool
10:26 < rxr> hm - ok - now I get a clue of to use this IDE, but this UI is far from beeing intuitive ...

10:50 < rxr> hm - this is new, too:
10:50 < rxr> scanimage -L
10:50 < rxr> ep_to_pipeRef: an error occurred getting pipe information on pipe 1
11:43 < rxr> so - /me finally back in the beloved linux ;-)
