11:29 < oilen> hello
11:31 < oilen> i have problems compiling kernel the desktop release on t2 8.0
11:31 < oilen> kernel cannot compile. missing utsrelease.h
11:52 < rxr> strange, just built here
11:54 < oilen> try like this
11:55 < oilen> 1. download fresh image
11:55 < oilen> 2. install
11:55 < oilen> 3. select t2 desktop
11:55 < oilen> try to build
11:55 < oilen> kernel at some point will fail at slmodem
11:55 < oilen> and there are many packages that do not build corecly rendering system unusable
11:57 < oilen> what makes it strange is that kernel if you use emerge it buils corectly
11:57 < oilen> but not if you try to build a distro
12:06 < rxr> ok, then it is "just" slmodem not being up-to-date for the latest kernel
12:06 < rxr> you can disable that package, for noe
12:06 < rxr> now
12:07 < oilen> the package we have seems to be tha last one
12:07 < oilen> hmm
12:07 < oilen> maybe i'm paranoid but i will try to make this work
12:08 < oilen> its a little unusual but i think it's a config problem
12:08 < oilen> the minimal xorg builds without great issues
12:19 < rxr> no, the problem is the linux kernel changing massively with every version so that most third party add-on modules no longer build and need some minor to major adaption, ...
12:20 < oilen> yep i figured that out. how do i disable slmodem?
12:21 < rxr> enable custom package selection, maybe you need to enable expert options before and add O slmodem
12:21 < rxr> which target do you build, generic or so?
12:21 < oilen> desktop
12:23 < oilen> tnx
13:05 -!- digitaloktay [~win7@unaffiliated/digitaloktay] has joined #t2
13:36 < oilen> i simply don't get it
13:36 < oilen> why if i build in emerge it works and in distribution it doesn't?\
13:37 < oilen> i disabled slmodem and now other packages do not build
13:37 < rxr> we do not abort on third party modules on Emerge
13:38 < oilen> yep i know this is a reason why usb support is buggy
13:39 < oilen> and many of drivers fail to load after 2 stage is loaded
13:47 < digitaloktay> hi rxr
13:48 < rxr> hi digitaloktay
15:00 < oilen> ok
15:00 < oilen> i managed to change slmodem to a newer verssion
15:01 < oilen> it aapears to cmopile ok but the build system gives an error
