15:00 < oilen> rxr xf86-video-via in 8.0 is incomplete. it misses some header files
15:00 < rxr> IICR the -via driver is not really maintained
15:00 < rxr> the openchrome should be a little more up-to-date
15:00 < rxr> you do have VIA silicon near you, or just getting a random build error ?
15:04 < oilen> nope
15:04 < oilen> i am working on a via epia-ml and it has this chip
15:05 < oilen> it's an old embedded board and i have to build a distro for like 1000 units :)
15:05 < rxr> nice :-)
15:05 < oilen> tell me about it
15:05 < rxr> give then xf86-video-openchrome driver a try
15:05 < rxr> it is way newer
15:05 < rxr> http://www.t2-project.org/packages/xf86-video-openchrome.html
15:06 < oilen> tnx
15:06 < rxr> I tested it once on an HP Mini 2133 or whatever the number was
15:06 < rxr> http://www.t2-project.org/hardware/portable/HP/Mini-2133/
15:29 < oilen> via vt8623 Apollo CLE266
15:32 < rxr> just try that openchrome flavor, it supposed to contain the latest bits
15:32 < rxr> http://www.t2-project.org/packages/xf86-video-openchrome.html
15:33 < oilen> already compiled testing...
15:33 < rxr> btw. do you work on a new product, or reviving some shipping hardware?
15:34 < oilen> i have 1000 payment terminals SH from russia
15:34 < oilen> i have to change XP embedded with linux
15:35 < rxr> nice :-)
15:35 < oilen> does not work :(
15:35 < oilen> nothing on screen
15:35 < oilen> x initializes corectly, no errors in xorg.conf
15:35 < rxr> you mean with openchrome or in general?
15:35 < oilen> openchrome
15:35 < rxr> I guess you see the bios and linux bootup text mode?
15:35 < oilen> i can deal wiith the rest
15:36 < oilen> i installed t2
15:36 < oilen> with generic minimal xorg
15:36 < rxr> well, last resort would be xorg on vesa or fb
15:36 < oilen> vesa gives a strange mode
15:36 < rxr> maybe the display is connected to some digital flat panel link and the openchrome driver needs some config option in the xorg config for this
15:37 < oilen> i think that this is the issue
15:37 < oilen> the display is 1280x1024
15:37 < oilen> but the DCC detects the mode corectly
15:37 < oilen> i'll try fb since it works in console:)
15:38 < rxr> yeah, well, or some openchrome panel option guidance
15:40 < oilen> mhmmmm
