18:57 < rogermas`> the problem with attr seems really to be a libtool problem: /usr/bin/libtool has AR="powerpc64-t2-linux-gnu-ar".  same with the entry for ranlib.
19:25 < rxr> 2 things may help: rebuild libtool (Emerge-Pkg -force libtool), or change (patch, or in the .confg) change the attr .conf or patch it to use libtool in another way
19:26 < rxr> guess this is an "artifact" of a fully cross compiled base system, ...
19:32 < rogermas`> there are more problems down the road.  i hand edited /usr/bin/libtool to fix the path problems.  Then attr won't install because there are shared files with man-pages.  I'll do the libtool rebuild though.
