07:45 < CIA-46> rene * r37112 /trunk/package/base/busybox/ (busybox.desc linuxrc-location.patch): * updated busybox (1.16.2 -> 1.17.1)
07:54 < CIA-46> rene * r37113 /trunk/package/emulators/virtualbox/virtualbox.desc: * updated virtualbox (3.2.6 -> 3.2.8)
08:36 < ch172> reconstruct: It looks like that kernel 2.6.34.2 does not compile, I had to use 2.6.34.1 and then it worked.
11:40 < rogermason> Hello. I'm trying to use Create-CkSumPatch thus: ./scripts/Create-CkSumPatch package/scientific/proj4/proj4.desc > proj4-cksum.patch
11:41 < rogermason> but the patch file is empty. proj4.desc exists and works (tested using Emerge-Pkg).
11:50 <@rxr> have you tried with just the package name?
11:51 <@rxr> e.g. scripts/Create-CkSumPatch lua
11:51 <@rxr> yep, just check, specifing the whole .desc file does not work
11:51 <@rxr> package name is sufficient
12:00 < rogermason> Yes. Thanks.

17:32 < rconstruct> hi
17:33 < rconstruct> netkit-rsh fails at stage 5, no PAM used, tries to use NULL without stdlib.h being included in rlogind/auth.c
17:33 < rconstruct> this in 9.0/trunk
17:34 < rconstruct> so just needs a patch to include in netkit-rsh/rlogind/auth.c
17:34 < rconstruct> either that or my toolchain is totally fubar
17:34 < rconstruct> builds fine now though
17:35 < rconstruct> foomatic-db is 404, foomatic-filters is 404
17:35 < rconstruct> both versions are very old, 4.0.4 (no pun intended) are the latest
17:35 < rconstruct> scribus 1.3.8 url is borked as well
17:47 < rconstruct> libmikmod fails
17:47 < rconstruct> doesn't recognizes x86-64 arch
17:48 < rconstruct> patch to fix this is at http://mikmod.raphnet.net/#files
17:48 < rconstruct> libmikmod-3.1.11-a.diff
18:01 < rconstruct> live is borked, i'll just mail all patches to the ml
18:03 < rconstruct> gqview should be removed....
18:03 < rconstruct> it's dead, and was superceded by geeqie, all bugfixes for gqview went to geeqie instead
18:03 < rconstruct> gqview is dead as a cod

18:56 <@rxr> rconstruct: can you send patches for this, thanks!
18:59 < CIA-46> rene * r37114 /trunk/package/develop/libcoyotl/ (gcc43.patch libcoyotl.cache): * fixed libcoyotl for gcc >= 4.3 (or so)
19:04 <@rxr> rconstruct: best as soon as possible so this a) not lost, and b) gets into 8.0.1 due soon
19:05 < rconstruct> hi
19:05 < rconstruct> sure, joining them....
19:05 < rconstruct> foomatic-db.patch, foomatic-filters.patch, geeqie.patch, libmikmod.patch, live.patch, netkit-rsh.patch, scribus.patch
19:05 < rconstruct> i'm sure there will be some more, already registered at nabble, i'll post them there, together with a couple of updates
19:06 <@rxr> yes, please
19:07 <@rxr> does this nabble thing still work?
19:07 <@rxr> if not just use the vanilla lsit!
19:07 < rconstruct> ok
19:07 < rconstruct> btw, one note
19:07 < rconstruct> the hard optimization for speed, the architecture
19:07 < rconstruct> has EM64T, generic K8, opteron, athlon64, etc...
19:07 < rconstruct> there's an important addition
19:08 < rconstruct> i'm passing -march=amdfam10 (-march=native would do)
19:08 < rconstruct> i'm mentioning this because k10, besides sse3, has sse4a
19:08 < rconstruct> and 4 or 5 opcodes from AVX
19:09 < rconstruct> build is fast though, without the errors i could get a 800pkg build in 3, 4h
19:09 < rconstruct> with 6 parallel jobs
19:09 < rconstruct> so i don't know if you want to add the option of -march=native
19:09 < rconstruct> to the architecture optimizations, that's supported by gcc 4.5
19:09 < rconstruct> and if you want to merge gcc 4.5.1 to 8.0 main trunk
19:09 < rconstruct> there's a critical showstopper in 4.5.0
19:10 < rconstruct> that prevents code built with the graphite/cloog-ppl autoparallelization framework to link
19:10 < rconstruct> about the patches, i'll mail to the vanilla list then as soon as i finish building the target
19:11 < rconstruct> should be today still i hope, in a few hours
19:12 <@rxr> I can add amd10h something
19:12 <@rxr> but native does result in reliable outputs
19:13 <@rxr> e.g. confusing for people who want definet results
19:13 <@rxr> but not only that, recently read that some i7 is clsssified as atom, ... ;=)
19:21 < CIA-46> rene * r37115 /trunk/package/develop/libevocosm/ (gcc43.patch.libevocosm libevocosm.cache): * fixed libevocosm for gcc >= 4.3
19:22 < rconstruct> good point
19:23 < rconstruct> well, back to the build, i'll let you know how things turn out with amdfam10, and mail the patches
19:23 < rconstruct> i'll b around
19:34 < CIA-46> rene * r37116 /trunk/architecture/x86-64/config.in: * updated / consolidated x86-64 optimization options, including adding amdfam10
19:36 < rconstruct> :)
19:36 < rconstruct> nabble is still active, mesgs from today
20:00 < rconstruct> quick question, you prefer 1 post per patch, dedicated to each patch
20:01 < rconstruct> or one post with all the patches, and notes/comments on them?
20:28 < rconstruct> posted @ nabble, they mention it's sent to standard t2 ml and vice-versa
20:36 < rconstruct> http://old.nabble.com/Fixes-for-netkit-rsh%2C-scribus%2C-foomatic-db%2C-foomatic-filters%2C-libmikmod%2C-live-td29381754.html
20:38 < rconstruct> but hmm already subscribted t2-project.org
20:42 < CIA-46> aldas * r37117 /trunk/package/x11/freetype/freetype.desc: * updated freetype (2.4.1 -> 2.4.2)

22:28 < ch172> I sent thre patch files to the mailing list to compile openoffice 3.2.0 with curent trunk, the mail arrived in the mailing list, but I got back the mail with the information it would be spam. What can I do that it won't be recognized as spam? And is it the way you expect patches?
