08:24 < rxr> mtr: just commit
08:24 < rxr> we can revert the gcc update if it is "too badly regressing"
08:24 < rxr> revert in the branch that is
08:25 < rxr> btw. I got this undefined __atomic_sync_and_fetch et al. stuff when not using the same cpu flags for compiling as for linking
08:25 < rxr> e.g. linker not adding this libgcc (I think) provided "helpers"
08:25 < rxr> even with current gccs already
08:42 < Xor_> hello all
08:43 < Xor_> how can I install portmap in t2-linux?
08:52 < rxr> in a running system? cd /usr/src/t2 (or where youre t2 sources are) scripts/Emerge-Pkg portmap
08:59 < Xor_> in a running system, i get Please create a configuration using ./scripts/Config. But i dont wan to create any configuration, it is just for the base system, I need access to an nfs shared folder
09:10 < rxr> you need a config
09:10 < rxr> or build the binary package on some other machine and install it with mine, or just tar
09:25 < Xor_> thank you
09:34 < CIA-28> rene * r34851 /trunk/package/base/linux26/linux26.desc: * updated linux26 (2.6.31.5 -> 2.6.31.6)

11:38 < Xor_> how can I select Syslinux in place of Isolinux for a cdlive target ? i want to build a system live in a USB

11:49 < rxr> I only tested usb sticks with grub
11:49 < rxr> you can choose the bootloader in the Config menu in any case
12:03 < Xor_> Now I builded a target cdlive with grub, but the iso file is for a CD, if I put this iso in a USB stick with dd, the qemu says: FATAL no bootable device...
12:04 < rxr> you can never simply copy some files, this will always be non-bootable
12:05 < rxr> we have an helper script that converts a Grub CD ISO into a bootable USB stick: t2-sources: misc/archive/iso2stick.sh
12:05 < Xor_> ahh!
12:05 < rxr> that convert script only works with grub
12:08 < Xor_> "iso2stic.sh: line 62: mkfs.vfat: command not found" must I install dosfstools?
12:08 < rxr> if you want a bootable stick:yes
12:09 < CIA-28> rene * r34853 /trunk/package/printing/cups/cups.desc: * updated cups (1.4.1 -> 1.4.2)
12:09 < CIA-28> rene * r34854 /trunk/package/graphic/jhead/jhead.desc: * updated jhead (2.87 -> 2.88)
12:09 < csiadmin> Xor_: don't know if this'll help, but I build a single initramfs and use syslinux to boot it from usb or grub to boot from cd
12:24 < Xor_> csiadmin thanks, but for a moment, with iso2stick works fine :)
12:24 < csiadmin> Xor_:no problem

13:06 < csiadmin> rxr: it looks like I found my issue in target/share/initrd/build.sh
13:08 < csiadmin> rxr: if I comment out the line 26 "(umount proc ; umount dev) 2>/dev/null" it works fine
13:55 < Xor_> I have my own kernel source customized with some drivers written by me, how can I build a target with this kernel?
13:55 < rxr> csiadmin: heh! guess some bash version exit value handling change as I guessed the other day
13:59 < csiadmin> rxr: absolutely right. Did you get to the dominos last night?
14:00 < rxr> well, not really, was in the office till 8, and on the way home I cross "unter den linden" which leads to the "brandurger gate" where the tv show tribune was and even some crossing away it was _full_
14:01 < rxr> so I guess one had to go there in the afternoon, with very warm clothes and hot tea, and wait there some 5 hours if one would have wanted to be in the first rows to see something :-)

15:35 < Baldzius> moin
15:35 < rxr> wb Baldzius
15:36 < Baldzius> hey rxr
15:36 < Baldzius> installed cross compiled 64 bits yesterday
15:36 < Baldzius> cool stuff
15:36 < rxr> yep
15:36 < Baldzius> noted couple of bugs
15:36 < rxr> only minimal polishing needed
15:36 < rxr> pam / cracklib
15:36 < rxr> perl only partially built
15:36 < rxr> anything else ?
15:37 < Baldzius> cdrkit I think failed
15:37 < rxr> oh, built here
15:37 < Baldzius> but I had no problems with pam or perl
15:37 < rxr> but apr / subversion needs a little guidance to reliable cross compile indeed
15:37 < rxr> yeah - they build, but due to no cracklibs dicts no passwd is possible
15:37 < Baldzius> installer couldn't find my cdrom /dev/sr0
15:38 < Baldzius> had manually create a link
15:38 < rxr> most auth stuff erroring out due obscure cracklib errorcode due absent dicts
15:38 < Baldzius> this should be fixed
15:38 < Baldzius> and found small problem in my crytpsetup implementation
15:39 < Baldzius> will fix it
15:39 < rxr> :-)
15:40 < Baldzius> throws an error when there's no /etc/crypttab
15:40 < Baldzius> not a big deal
15:49 < Baldzius> lovely, my patch for instalation init is actually preventing for /dev/sr0 coming up in the device list
15:49 < Baldzius> feck
15:49 < Baldzius> I need to improve my coding skills
15:50 < rxr> :-)
15:51 < Baldzius> + [[ "$devname" = sd* ]] && devicelist="$devicelist /dev/$devname"
15:51 < Baldzius> this looks little bit stupid
15:53 < Baldzius> that's why sr0 wasn't coming up
15:53 < Baldzius> (headbang)
15:54 < Baldzius> does it look professional -> [[ "$devname" = s* ]] ?
15:58 < rxr> hm
15:59 < Baldzius> anyway something has to be done as currently installer doesn't find usb keys
16:00 < rxr> well, it only was written in times of bootable cdroms :-)
16:00 < rxr> the livecd code has a removeable test
16:01 < Baldzius> could you backport it?
16:05 < rxr> i guess I'll have to take a reall look what devices exist when I try boot my next build

16:25 < Xor_> can someone help me please?
16:32 < rxr> Xor_: I guess we all are a little busy with our day job at work
16:33 < rxr> Xor_: what exactly do you need help with?
16:37 < Xor_> well, i have read t2-manual, but i can't understand how can I build my own kernel modules in the target... or how can I replace the linux26 pakage with my own kernel.
16:46 < rxr> so the grub usb stick from some hours ago did work?
16:47 < Xor_> yes :)
16:48 < Xor_> i have running a t2-linux in a USB, im testing and all is working fine
16:48 < rxr> ok, thanks for letting me know >/(
16:49 < rxr> to replace the kernel you could just edit the linux26 package
16:49 < rxr> or more cleanly, copy it and modify the copy
16:49 < rxr> or yet cleaner, overload the linux26 package in your target definition in target//package/linux26/...
16:49 < rxr> you can look at the other targets to get an idea
16:50 < rxr> for the kernel module you can edit the linux26 package to patch it in
16:50 < rxr> or yet, cleaner, package the module like the other third party modules, like unionfs, aufs, or some wireless kernel module and build it when linux26 is build using the so called t2 postlinux hook
16:50 < rxr> I hope this helps
16:51 < rxr> what kernel module is it you want to package?
16:51 < CIA-28> rene * r34855 /trunk/package/gnome2/gedit/gedit.desc: * updated gedit (2.28.0 -> 2.28.1)
16:51 < CIA-28> rene * r34856 /trunk/package/graphic/asymptote/asymptote.desc: * updated asymptote (1.88 -> 1.89)
16:52 < CIA-28> rene * r34857 /trunk/package/lua/luajit/ (luaL_narg.patch luajit.conf luajit.desc maxn.patch): * updated luajit (2.0.0-beta1 -> 2.0.0-beta2), prepared it for potential cross compilation
16:56 < Xor_> the kernel modules what i want to package are drivers written by me for a custom PCI board
16:56 < rxr> nice
16:57 < rxr> some industrial control board, or so?
16:57 < rxr> I hope you find one of the possibilities outlined above to build the module useful

18:08 < Baldzius> csiadmin: weird, I have no problem here
18:09 < Baldzius> how [D] looks like in the apache.desc file?
18:10 < Baldzius> == 11/10/09 17:09:11 =[9]=> Finished building package apache.
18:11 < Baldzius> it sound like you are more likely installing it not building , Binary file for ...
18:13 < csiadmin> Baldzius: it has built ok, it's just not being packaged into build//TOOLCHAIN/pkgs
18:18 < Baldzius> never had such problem before
18:18 < Baldzius> build finished and only apache package wasn't in?
19:06 < csiadmin> Baldzius: sorry was afk - doesn't affect me as I just tar up the filesystem under the build
