12:35 < koan> ah this is a handy overview of all Atom models, their TDP, virtualization technology, etc.: http://ark.intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?familyID=29035
12:37 < koan> I thought all the Z models had virtualization support, but apparently not
12:38 < koan> VT is in Z520 and above
12:51 < michael-i> hi rxr, I think I finally have this stupid dual-toolchain switching problem cornered
12:52 < michael-i> This output (http://pastebin.ca/1543019) shows the difference between setting the other toolchain via archtest.out and via blackfin/parse-config. It seems to show the wrapper not being executed or applied. Haven't found out how to exec it though...

13:20 < csiadmin> hi all - do I have to do anything other than put my files in target//rootfs whenever I want them injected into my build?

16:45 < the_rainbow0> have you ever compiled the curses module for perl on T2?
16:49 < rxr> hi
16:49 < rxr> koan: yes, the tiniest Zs have no HT nor VT
16:50 < the_rainbow0> I'm trying to build the curses module for Perl
16:51 < the_rainbow0> lots of errors
16:52 < koan> I'm building trunk on 7.0, now in stage 2, no problems yet, seems promising
16:53 < the_rainbow0> ah by the way rxr
16:53 < the_rainbow0> why are you keeping the kernel-headers for the 2.6.24?
16:53 < the_rainbow0> I changed that for my build to 2.6.30 and it works fine
16:54 < csiadmin> hi everyone
16:55 < rxr> the_rainbow0: didn't mtr update the headers recently
16:56 < rxr> maybe he just planned to and was still testing
16:56 < rxr> if we update with every release they break other stuff too often, called regressions
16:56 < rxr> we only update when there is a need due whatever new ABI feature
16:56 < the_rainbow0> I know that
16:56 < the_rainbow0> but a few days ago, I've build t2 with minimal config
16:57 < the_rainbow0> with the latest updates
16:57 < rxr> mtr planned to update it due to some new DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) feature set
16:57 < the_rainbow0> and the build went great with the linux-headers 2.6.30
16:57 < rxr> good to know
16:58 < rxr> as I saied mtr wanted to take care of the update
16:58 < the_rainbow0> ah okay
16:59 < the_rainbow0> cool
17:03 < the_rainbow0> have you ever come across this kind of nasty errors when compiling a perl module on T2?
17:03 < the_rainbow0> Doing test compiles with the compile command 'gcc -DSYM="_C_SYM_" -I/usr/include/ncursesw -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -I/usr/local/include -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -o _C_FILE_ _C_FILE_.c -L/usr/local/lib -lncursesw>/dev/null 2>&1'
17:03 < the_rainbow0> function 'waddch' NOT found
17:03 < the_rainbow0> function 'wechochar' NOT found
17:03 < the_rainbow0> function 'waddchstr' NOT found
17:04 < rxr> nopre
17:04 < the_rainbow0> -- and the list is truncated --
17:04 < rxr> nope even
17:04 < the_rainbow0> lots of stuff are missing
17:04 < the_rainbow0> okay
17:04 < rxr> is that a package we already have ?
17:04 < the_rainbow0> no no
17:04 < the_rainbow0> it's the curses module for Perl
17:04 < the_rainbow0> you don't have this package on T2
17:05 < the_rainbow0> on other distributions like RedHat or Fedora, it's called Perl-Curses
17:05 < the_rainbow0> and I need this packagt to make Bastille work on T2
17:07 < rxr> maybe take a look at the source of this module to find out what it is doing to check ?=
17:08 < the_rainbow0> yep that's what I'm doing
17:12 < csiadmin> anyone injected files into the build before? mine don't make onto my iso
17:31 < rxr> in live ISOs, yet
17:43 < csiadmin> rxr: do I have to then manually copy them over?
17:45 < rxr> livecd installcd ?
17:49 < csiadmin> rxr: yep
17:51 < rxr> which of booth
18:25 < rxr> which of both?
18:31 < csiadmin> rxr: sorry was interrupted - the installcd
18:35 < rxr> ah - rootfs overlaying is only implemented for the livecd case
18:35 < rxr> what kind of files would like like to have where exactly ?
18:42 < csiadmin> rxr: gotcha, I'm overlaying config files like /etc/monitrc and so on
18:43 < rxr> you want them in your installed system or just during the installation in the installer in-ram system ?
18:43 < csiadmin> rxr: in the final installed system
18:44 < rxr> then it is best to add the files to the individual packages
18:44 < rxr> e.g. configure your monit package to ship with this one more config file
18:44 < csiadmin> rxr: ahh I see.
18:45 < csiadmin> rxr: I'm still trying to get java in my final build - but to no avail, I'm toying with overlaying it as well
