11:16 < rxr> hi mtr
11:16 < rxr> how's life ?
11:17 < mtr> hi rxr, belated best wishes!
11:18 < mtr> congratulations and greetings to susan

11:19 < mtr> I'm on vacation currently and got some minutes for test builds again ;-)
11:19 < rxr> mtr: thanks
11:21 < rxr> regarding trunk some of balzius updates broken a little acl/attr and lvm2
11:21 < rxr> will try to fix soon
11:21 < rxr> though if you do that would be welcome, too :-)
11:22 < mtr> attr fails to install the correct .so into /lib
11:23 < mtr> ... workarounded by manual copying into $buildroot to get the build going on
11:23 < rxr> for me it fails to even link ...
11:23 < rxr> in a 32bit test build on a 64bit system
11:23 < rxr> broken crap packages ...
11:24 * rxr wonders how such vitial core stuff can have such broken build system (configure, Makefile.*, etc.) ...
11:24 < mtr> still plain 32bit in my builds
11:26 < mtr> I have some work on aufs/aufs2 to be committed, and updated util-linux-ng to 2.16
11:26 < rxr> sounds great
11:26 < rxr> how's your job going on ?
11:26 < mtr> things are going well, thanks
11:27 < rxr> good to hear - I guess not really t2 at work right now?
11:27 < mtr> even its really time consuming - too less time for working on t2 currently
11:27 < mtr> unfortunately not ;-)
11:27 < rxr> yeah - guessed given the nature of the product ...
11:29 < mtr> there is an opportunity to get t2 in touch with this, but its in early stages, maybe later this year
11:30 < rxr> :-)
11:30 < rxr> mtr: btw. for the non-Linux kernel work
11:30 < rxr> mtr: I got mingw32 (windows 32) support for t2 lingering in some other tree on my multi-core server
11:31 < rxr> that is use T2 to cross build windows executables ... :-)
11:31 < rxr> should flush that sometime soon
11:31 < rxr> includes basic infrastucture for kernel/ and a [K|ERNEL] .desc tag
11:31 < rxr> just in case you might need something like that for win32 controls at work :-)
11:32 < mtr> http://www.linuxtag.org/2009/en/program/freies-vortragsprogramm/wednesday/details.html?talkid=185
11:33 < mtr> win32 support sounds great, but I am trying to migrate internal projects over to Linux
11:34 < rxr> :-)
11:34 < rxr> just wanted to spread the word to save others times and make their life easier :-)
11:34 < mtr> nevertheless there are still requirements to have win32
11:34 < rxr> of course linux migrations welcome :-)
11:40 < CIA-69> mtr * r33886 /trunk/package/ (3 files in 2 dirs):
11:40 < CIA-69> * updated util-linux (2.14.2 -> 2.16)
11:40 < CIA-69> * changed util-linux build priority (179.200 -> 179.198):
11:40 < CIA-69> build before e2fsprogs
11:40 < CIA-69> * build e2fsprogs with external libs blkid/uuid, which are
11:40 < CIA-69> part of util-linux-ng since 2.16
11:43 < CIA-69> mtr * r33887 /trunk/package/filesystem/aufs/ (7 files):
11:43 < CIA-69> * updated aufs (2008-10-21 -> 2009-05-22)
11:43 < CIA-69> * set to O as newer kernels are not supported any more
11:43 < CIA-69> in favour of aufs2
11:48 -!- koan [n=koan@unaffiliated/koan] has quit ["Lost terminal"]
11:48 < rxr> mtr: there is a new aufs in their git: +[D] X aufs2-2009-06-15.tar.bz2 git+http://git.c3sl.ufpr.br/pub/scm/aufs/aufs2-standalone.git aufs2-standalone
11:48 -!- koan [n=koan@unaffiliated/koan] has joined #t2
11:48 < rxr> but that url does not really work yet
11:54 < mtr> aufs2 pkg desc follows, I am only waiting for the desktop test build to generate .cache files to commit
11:59 < mtr> the aufs2.desc git url has to include the branch name:
11:59 < mtr> git+http://git.c3sl.ufpr.br/pub/scm/aufs/aufs2-standalone.git origin/aufs2-30
11:59 < mtr> for post-clone checkout
12:26 < rxr> aga
12:26 < rxr> maybe you like to update aufs, likewise :-)
12:42 < mtr> what is the state of the xorg pkgs? libxext fails due to new/changed header filenames from xextproto
12:42 < mtr> should we try/update to development revision, like libXext-1.0.99.4, pixman-0.15.20 ?
12:45 < rxr> not pixman
12:45 < rxr> (I have it in my local auto-tester) but in general we should only use stable releases
12:45 < rxr> pixman will soon be 0.16, so why bother getting more regressions by some abritrary development releases?
12:46 < rxr> and I have some strange X regression in my auto-builder anyway
12:46 < rxr> in general this open source mess these days breaks more often than not
12:46 < rxr> I would personally try to avoid extra work by sticking to released "named stable"
12:46 < rxr> they cause enough trouble already, anyway
12:47 < mtr> ack
12:47 < mtr> so waiting for them to sync their releases
12:48 < rxr> there might be already something out of sync in the t2/trunk
12:48 < mtr> libxext(stable) fails to build with xextproto(stable)
12:48 < rxr> at least I get major xlib breakage in my auto-builder
12:48 < rxr> not sure if that is pending stuff or already in the tree ...
12:48 < rxr> you mean as in t2/trunk:HEAD ?
12:48 < rxr> maybe that is what I got here

12:49 < rxr> mtr: we should dongrade revert to some working set ...
12:49 < mtr> yes, its in our tree
12:49 < rxr> yeah - was not yet sure if trunk or my WC ...
12:49 < rxr> :-(((
12:49 < rxr> damnit

13:15 < mtr> downgrading: xextproto 7.1.0 -> 7.0.5, fixesproto 4.1 -> 4.0
13:15 < mtr> http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-devel/2009-July/001414.html
13:16 < rxr> ok
13:16 < mtr> xorg releases after July 15th have high potential of breaking something ... ;-)
13:17 < rxr> toll

14:01 < csiadmin> hi all, anyone ever tried to implement anaconda (or alternative installer to stone) in t2?
14:08 < rxr> not that I know of
14:27 < csiadmin> rxr: thx I had a look at the archvista install script, at the moment I'm working on getting my build right

14:44 < koan> interesting
14:45 < rxr> yeah - kind of what I was talking about back in Februrary
14:45 < koan> sorry for the quit-join mess btw, my vps seems to have a problematic connection
14:46 < rxr> NOP
14:56 < koan> I should brush up my German, there are so many interesting technology media in Germany :)
14:57 < rxr> well - thos slides of the unreal guy are english anyway :-)
14:57 < rxr> there are good english ones anyway, tomshardware, arstechnica, engadget ...
14:58 < rxr> I linked them all here: http://www.t2-project.org/startpage/
14:58 < rxr> (t2 users get that as their's browser default home-page
14:59 < koan> I'm following Ars Technica especially with much interest
15:00 < rxr> I'm a little annoyed by the osnews.com tone ...
15:00 < koan> but Golem.de seems to catch many things I can't find elsewhere
15:00 < rxr> 10y ago that was my favourite site of the day ...
15:01 < koan> they have interesting things, but indeed, their tone is also not my cup of tea
15:01 < rxr> in the past I contribute some articles to them

15:42 < csiadmin> hi all, java jdk is a manual install - I've just build a new target with it. The build succeeded but there's no java or jdk on the target. Is there something else I've to do?
15:43 < rxr> maybe you have to flip some "bundle binary packages option" that is off by default for legal safety reasons
15:43 < rxr> but honestly, I have never wanted to ship with such non-open stuff, maybe it's something else
