12:16 < koan> when I make a custom pkgsel file for a target, does t2 handle the dependencies automatically?
12:32 < mpp> nope
12:32 < mpp> only on emerge on live host
12:32 < mpp> should be in the faq !
12:33 < koan> ok, so what's the simplest way to find these dependencies manually?
12:33 < mpp> emerge on testhost .
12:33 < mpp> get the dep form /var/adm/....
12:34 < koan> and why is this? is it a technical difficulty or just not yet implemented? or is it a decision by design?
12:35 < mpp> dunno maybe rxr nows
12:35 < mpp> knows
12:36 < mpp> maybe have a look at the /var/adm/cache dir inside the chrooted build dir
12:36 < mpp> maybe the deps are already recorded there
12:44 < koan> ok I can manage it that way, but I wonder why Build-Target works different than Emerge-Pkg in this way
12:55 < mpp> cause emerge is intende for live systems
12:55 < mpp> that's all
12:56 < koan> well, the dependencies should be the same

19:58 < MateIn4> Hello, I'm new to T2 and I'm trying to build a minimal embedded system for an ixp425 with the latest kernel. I'm using the trunk. 1st question: how does one select the kernel version?
20:40 < MateIn4> I should add that my confusion comes because in the download step it's trying to download linux2.6.24 for the linux-header.
20:53 < koan> that's for the first stage, when it's building a bootstrap environment
20:54 < koan> in a later stage it will download the latest version
20:54 < koan> and that's what gets installed in your target
21:04 < MateIn4> ok, but it fails in the first stage...I guest the wrt2 target is really experimental!
21:26 < koan> indeed
21:26 < koan> I haven't tried it yet
21:40 < MateIn4> I guess what I'm looking for is a custom target. I'll have to read up some more on that.
21:41 < koan> the t2 handbook on the website is really helpful
