12:07 < rxr> 10:38 < Freeman2411> could you recommend some streamers? But I need cheap ones!

12:07 < mpp> moin mtr
12:07 < mtr> hi mpp
12:18 < mpp> hey - i don't get it . do cron jobs have to be a specific format
12:18 < mpp> i added some stuff to /etc/cron.daily/ but it doesn't get executed
12:30 < mtr> hey CIA ...
12:30 < mtr> I just committed a dhcp fix
12:31 < mtr> that makes the 4.0.0 version to work out-of-the box again
12:31 < mtr> please review ...
12:33 < mpp> hey mtr can you help with the cron job issue
12:33 < mpp> im really stuck
12:36 < mtr> mpp: you already checked you /etc/crontab that it runs /usr/sbin/cron.run?
12:37 < mpp> yes it does
12:37 < mpp> it's the 'original' - no stuff changed
12:37 < mpp> cron daemon is running
12:38 < mtr> /bin/sh is -> bash ?
12:39 < mpp> ill check but i don't think i changed anything related
12:39 < mtr> no other ideas, usually works ...
12:39 < mpp> i also have no mail for root anywhere
12:39 < mpp> should be i think
13:10 < rxr> anyone here experience in bidding on domain names randomly registed by domain name grabbers ?
13:19 -!- digitaloktay [n=debian@dslb-084-056-211-199.pools.arcor-ip.net] has joined #t2
13:26 < mpp> nope
13:27 < mpp> german domains ?
13:34 < rxr> .com domain ...
13:39 < mpp> nope i pass on that
13:39 < mpp> could you give me a short advise on my crontab problem ?
13:39 < rxr> I have not read the chan right now
13:40 < mpp> ah k
13:40 < mpp> ill wait
13:40 < rxr> you mean you added a new file?
13:40 < rxr> I do not know cron inside out
13:40 < rxr> restart cron did also not help Ã
13:40 < mpp> nope
13:40 < mpp> it seems that none of the jobs gets executed
13:41 < mpp> cron scripts and command files look ok
13:41 < rxr> hm
13:48 < mpp> bug found
13:48 < mpp> -mail-to-root is the cause
13:48 < mpp> when no mail is installed the cron daemon breaks
13:49 < mpp> gee what trouble !

16:58 < tricky_> er, i just installed t2 on my laptop
16:58 < tricky_> i had a vista install
16:58 < tricky_> and an ubuntu
16:59 < tricky_> and now i can only boot into t2 and the screen goes all crazy
16:59 < tricky_> is there anyway to get back into ubuntu
16:59 < tricky_> from grub
17:01 < koan> you should add entries in grub for your ubuntu and vista systems
17:02 < koan> can you mount your ubuntu partition in t2 and then look at the /boot/grub/menu.lst in you ubuntu partition
17:02 < koan> ?
17:03 < koan> if you copy the relevant parts to t2's menu.lst, you should be able to boot again in ubuntu and vista
17:03 < tricky_> well as soon as t2 is finished loading
17:03 < tricky_> the screen goes mental and i can
17:03 < tricky_> 't see anything
17:04 < tricky_> does the default install come with any gui, or should it just boot into a command prompt
17:05 < koan> did you install the minimal iso or minimal-xorg?
17:05 < koan> the first has no graphical interface, the second does
17:05 < koan> can you open another tty with alt+ctrl+f2 or f3 etc?
17:06 < tricky_> minimal iso
17:06 < tricky_> yeah but they are all botched as well
17:07 < koan> can you remotely login into t2 using ssh?
17:09 < tricky_> well i'm in ubuntu live right now
17:09 < tricky_> hopefully i can sort out menu.lst
17:10 < tricky_> but i don't know why t2 won't boot properly
17:10 < tricky_> will ssh access be on by default?
17:10 < koan> hm I don't remember
17:13 < tricky_> ok i can boot my ubuntu partition again, but vista won't boot
17:16 < koan> which error does grub give?
17:16 < tricky_> :( can't remember
17:16 < tricky_> i'll tell you when i erboot
17:17 < koan> I once had a triple boot installation t2 - ubuntu - windows xp that way, with t2's grub
17:17 < koan> that worked flawlessly
17:18 < koan> I don't know if Vista is doing something differently
17:21 < tricky_> well i was dual booting vista-ubuntu previously with no problems
17:21 < tricky_> i just copied over the exact menu.lst file
17:26 -!- CIA-10 [n=CIA@208.69.182.149] has quit []
17:26 < koan> hm I'm sorry, I don't know what is going wrong then, and I don't have any experience with Vista
17:26 < tricky_> that's fine, i'll figure it out
17:27 < tricky_> have you any idea why the screen doesn't work in t2?
17:29 < koan> I haven't experienced that phenomenon
17:29 < koan> what videocard do you have?
17:29 < tricky_> nvidia 7600
17:29 < koan> it's weird because it even isn't X
17:30 < tricky_> well i don;'t think it is
17:30 < koan> do you see any messages on your screen first or is it completely unreadable?
17:31 -!- mpp [n=mpp@i53875C73.versanet.de] has joined #t2
17:35 < tricky_> yeah it boots up normally with loads of text
17:35 < koan> and can you read the last lines it shows? maybe there's a clue
17:35 < tricky_> then istead of going to command prompt, it tries to go high-res and it becomes unreadable
17:35 < tricky_> ok hang on
17:37 < tricky_> its mounting the fs
17:38 -!- CIA-10 [n=CIA@208.69.182.149] has joined #t2
17:39 < tricky_> says something about the kernel and now i can't see anything
17:40 < koan> well that sounds like X is starting, are you sure you didn't download the minimal-xorg iso?
17:40 < tricky_> don't remember, i guess i must have done
17:42 < koan> alt+ctrl+backspace doesn't work?
17:43 < tricky_> no
17:43 < tricky_> i think i downloaded this one: http://dl.t2-project.org/binary/stable/7.0-rc2/minimal-i486/
17:43 < koan> well I would try to login into the system using ssh and shut down X
17:43 < tricky_> ok
