17:09 < mtr> hahaha: WARNING: NR_CPUS limit of 1 reached. Processor ignored.
17:10 < mtr> and I wonder why this dual core system does not show better performance ....
17:11 < mtr> looks like I should enable CONFIG_SMP ...
17:24 < mtr> rxr: did you try 2.6.27 already?
17:28 < rxr> nope
17:36 -!- claudio_ch [n=claudio@217-162-160-47.dclient.hispeed.ch] has quit ["Client exiting"]
17:36 < koan> ok I have installed mpp's iso, but the created grub menu.lst was not correct, there was a message about "Device map not found" _in_ menu.lst, preventing it to boot
17:47 < rxr> was that a 7.0 or trunk image? I recall I fixed such a bug a month or two ago
17:47 < rxr> I think as work around (if it's the same bug) you can enter the grub menu, let it create the device map, return to the previous menu and re-enter the grub menu for the device list to be re-read
17:47 < rxr> if it's that bug it should be at least fixed in trunk
17:51 < koan> it's the iso from mpp, I think it's trunk
17:54 < rxr> can you check the "workaroudn" mentioned above ?
18:03 < koan> well, it's a bit more complicated here, it's a triple boot install and T2 has overwritten my grub config, so I'm now restoring my old one :-)
18:06 < koan> I'll first check that workaround
18:07 < koan> rxr: how do I create the device map in grub?
18:12 < rxr> IIRC there's a menu entry for this in the stone grub module
18:13 < rxr> there was a bug that in this stone shell code that failed to re-read the device map after creation
18:13 < rxr> that was fixed some weeks ago (4-6 weeks?)
18:13 < koan> ok, probably mpp's iso is older
18:20 -!- mpp [n=user@i53874ED3.versanet.de] has joined #t2
18:49 < koan> I see no scripts directory in my T2 install, how do I install a package then?
18:50 < rxr> just checkout the t2 tree you like to use as normal
18:51 < koan> ah ok
19:01 < koan> hm if I try to configure /etc/conf/network for dhcp and do a "ifup eth0", it complains "Unknown statement in config gile: dhcp"
19:12 < koan> On a Rock Linux irc log I find the suggestion that I'm missing dhclient, although I have dhcpcd (http://www.rocklinux.net/irclog/rocklinux.log.20041115.html)
19:26 < mpp> try dhcpcd
19:26 < mpp> :-)
19:27 < mpp> as tag for networking
19:27 < koan> aha :-)
19:28 < mpp> yes rocknet has some issues with dhclient
19:28 < mpp> or was it dhclient - can't recall atm
19:28 < mpp> hey kohan did the binary help ?
19:29 < koan> yes, I'm running it now, many thanks
19:29 < mpp> you should remount the root / with commit=5
19:29 < mpp> i had the kernel patched for ext3 with journal mode and commit intervall of 60s
19:30 < mpp> for speeding up build procedure
19:30 < mpp> forgot to mention yesterday
19:30 < mpp> sorry ..
19:30 < CIA-31> ragnar * r30827 /trunk/package/base/crash/crash.desc: * crash: update to 4.0-7.4
19:30 < koan> ok
19:30 < mpp> for ext3 if that's your rootfs type
19:31 < mpp> otherwise don't bother
19:32 < koan> indeed, I'm using ext3
19:32 < mpp> if you have enough ram - it shouldn't be a problem
19:33 < mpp> anyways i guess i will build a fresh target so my patching will be obselete after that
19:33 < mpp> you i mean
19:33 < koan> 2 Gbytes, seems enough :-)
19:34 < mpp> ah than just leave it that way
19:34 < mpp> one thing that blew the dump errors :
