09:04 < rxr> hi mtr
09:11 < CIA-4> mtr * r29898 /trunk/package/contrib/directfb/ (directfb.conf directfb.desc):
09:11 < CIA-4> * changed directfb build priority (112.000 -> 126.800)
09:11 < CIA-4> * regression from r27416: build after x11 libs
09:44 < CIA-4> mtr * r29899 /trunk/package/kde/phonon/ (. phonon.cache phonon.desc): * added phonon (4.2.0) - KDE4 Media Framework
09:45 < mtr> hmm, phonon has a build priority problem as it depends on gstreamer
09:45 < mtr> 127.000 kde qt4
09:45 < mtr> 128.850 kde phonon
09:45 < mtr> 128.900 kde kdelibs
09:45 < mtr> 161.400 gnome2 gstreamer
09:45 < mtr> but kdelibs depends on phonon
09:47 < mtr> maybe gstreamer's build priority can be lowered before phonon ...?
09:48 < rxr> I hope :-)
09:57 * mtr takes a note for the next clean rebuild
09:59 < rxr> there are only a few packages missing to hit 3100
10:35 < CIA-4> rene * r29900 /trunk/package/lua/ (5 files in 2 dirs):
10:35 < CIA-4> * updated lua-pcre (1.19 -> 2.4.0)
10:35 < CIA-4> * updated lua-rx (1.19 -> 2.4.0)
10:35 < CIA-4> * removed T2 specific additions
10:46 < CIA-4> rene * r29901 /trunk/package/lua/lua-pcre/lrexlib-conf.in:
10:46 < CIA-4> * fixed lua-pcre and lua-rx to install not only the .so sym-link
10:46 < CIA-4> but also the library binary
10:46 < CIA-4> * fixed lua-pcre and lua-rx to cross build, again

21:25 < PupUserdfs64565> Hi Guys, I tried using T2 today for the first time and it had around 50+ packages missing?? Can I just ad the source packages? Also with thing like Qt3 can I delete it and exchange it with Qt4, then run the build script, I really would like to get it working, Also I have Gcc installed, should it be installed? The reason why is when I was building it just stopped. I didn't see on the website if you needed a compiler or not. Thanks
21:26 < PupUserdfs64565> Oh ya , how come it hasn't been updated since nov 2007?
21:32 < Ragnarin> I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to accomplish ...
21:32 < Ragnarin> first, since t2 is a source based distribution, and a compiler is nee
21:32 < Ragnarin> needed for turning sources into binary executables, you will need gcc :)
21:34 < Ragnarin> qt4 is what is included in the qt package ... qt3 is only there for backward compatibility :)
21:35 < Ragnarin> (or the other way around)
21:35 < Ragnarin> anyway both are there
21:35 < Ragnarin> I don't understand what missing packages you're talking about tho
21:36 < PupUserdfs64565> oh ok because the site said that T2 only needed
21:36 < PupUserdfs64565> T2 requires just a few prerequisites for building:a Bash shell: as the T2 scripts take advantage of some convenient Bash specific features and shortcutsncurses: for the scripts/Config toolcat, cut, sed & co: for the usual shell scriptingThe build scripts will check for the most important tools and print a diagnostic if a tool or feature is found missing.
21:36 < PupUserdfs64565> it didn't mention gcc
21:36 < Ragnarin> ah ok ... it should probably mention that :)
21:37 < PupUserdfs64565> so I was wondering if it builds its own and it was stopping the process due to conflic with my own gcc
21:37 < felanha> you will also need subversion
21:37 < felanha> if you want to check out the source tree
21:38 < Ragnarin> no, for the first step (build stage 1) the Build-Target script will use your system gcc
21:39 < PupUserdfs64565> Can I just delete the packages I don't need and add new sources, Like if I don't like Mplayer and delete it and add VLC, will it compile it?
21:40 < Ragnarin> easiest way to configure your package list is with the Config script (enable custom package selection)
21:41 < Ragnarin> are you trying a build with Build-Target, or are you using Emerge-Pkg ?
21:41 < Ragnarin> (or are you using a binary image?)
21:42 < PupUserdfs64565> Build Target
21:43 < Ragnarin> ok yea then enable custom package selection, and add '- mplayer' and 'x vlc' (for your example)
21:43 -!- tri [n=tri@p4FCF4102.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Remote closed the connection]
21:45 < PupUserdfs64565> I would like to make it compatible with Ubuntu intrepid, well kernel, Glibc etc so I could use ubuntu packages from the site which are compiled as i386, but with a min-base
21:45 < Ragnarin> use '-' to disable a package permanently, 'O' (like optional) for something you might still want to build later and 'X' to enable a package
21:45 < Ragnarin> uhm ... you probably don't want to use another distributions binary packages on their own
21:46 < Ragnarin> for example, those would lack the bookkeeping files in /var/adm that t2 uses to keep track of which files belong to which package
21:47 < PupUserdfs64565> I was just thinking of extracting packages to / with the required libs
21:48 < PupUserdfs64565> So T2 has a package manager
21:48 < Ragnarin> 'mine' does the low level installing and removing packages
21:49 < Ragnarin> gasgui gives you a package tree to install, but that's mainly just useful for installation cds
21:50 < PupUserdfs64565> I've always just compiled sources in the past and used a regular Linux distro, It the first time that I'm trying to build one.
21:51 < Ragnarin> you'll find you can easily roll your own packages for those external files you don't have any source packages for (look at the nvidia package for example)
21:54 < Ragnarin> and making a t2 package for a source package that's not in t2 yet is even simpler for most :)
22:11 < PupUserdfs64565> I've been reading up on the "Emerge-Pkg " thats kind of interesting
22:13 -!- Enqlave [n=stealth@sourcemage/guru/stealth] has quit ["Dont wait to die to find paradise..."]
22:14 < Ragnarin> be careful when using it tho ... it does dependency tracking and will try to install/update dependencies
22:15 < Ragnarin> so if you use it on a different distribution it might try to build the whole base packages (or fail because there's no /var/adm)
22:25 -!- Enqlave [n=stealth@sourcemage/guru/stealth] has joined #t2
22:38 -!- hwinkel [n=hwinkel@p54B6AAEC.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has left #t2 []
22:55 < PupUserdfs64565> I've been a long time Puppy Linux user and basically I would like to build something simular, like it, But Barry is retiring and well, I think its going to turn out to be a mess. I have my own Variants and website, but now I figure I could do it on my own, Well atleast start it, I have a few others who want help-out once I get things going. So basically I need to build a base, I have my own custom version of "Icewm" I would like t
22:57 < PupUserdfs64565> I'll change my nick
22:58 -!- PupUserdfs64565 is now known as help-needed
22:58 < help-needed> lol
23:13 < help-needed> yesterday I tried
23:13 < help-needed> To summarize, a typical cycle to build a T2 target looks like: ./scripts/Config ./scripts/Download ./scripts/Build-Target
23:14 < help-needed> and was missing 50+ packages and just stopped building, any ideas how to fix this?
