14:13 -!- sparc-kly [n=mubex@adsl-72-50-101-246.prtc.net] has quit [Remote closed the connection]
14:45 < rxr> re
14:46 < rxr> Capey: because they release so seldom
14:46 < rxr> Capey: we update from time to time from their snapshots / SVN when we need important fixes and features
14:46 < Capey> rxr: oh ok
14:46 < rxr> Capey: we did not yet use a newer version of uclibc because it has regressions on at least x86

17:17 < sepp_> ohh, hi :)
17:18 < rxr> ohh ?
17:18 < rxr> did you try out pixie ?
17:19 < CIA-21> rene * r22582 /trunk/package/editors/texmacs/texmacs.desc: * updated texmacs (1.0.6.8 -> 1.0.6.9)
17:19 < sepp_> yes, but it wants to cast int to * or something stupid, and i have not looked at that right now
17:20 < sepp_> playing with squeak, much more fun atm ;-)
17:20 < rxr> lol
17:20 < rxr> and peale say linux has too few games :-)

17:30 < rxr> sepp: did you try pixie on amd64 ?
17:30 < sepp> yes, guess on x86 it will compile without patch
17:33 < rxr> modified 3 lines
17:33 < rxr> now it is continuing
17:34 < rxr> maybe I commit and you as 3D renderer user & expert give it a try ... ?
17:34 < sepp> sure
17:35 < rxr> hm - some more of those
17:35 < sepp> with -O2 gcc still runs oom :D, that was the 1st thing i tested
17:35 < rxr> wonders how those number crunching people can still use x86 ...
17:36 < rxr> when x86-64 has big wins in this ares, due way more registers and higher precision (64bit) at a time ...
17:38 < sepp> well, pixie is still not ready for heavy use anyway, it is not a toy but also not reliable enough for real use
17:40 < sepp> but it is enought to play with renderman in case you dont want to give pixar $4000 ...
17:45 < rxr> ah
17:45 < rxr> ok - after patching seven places now there is some other thing in sdr.y
17:45 < rxr> guess I do more important stuffs for now
17:46 < rxr> have to leave soon again anywa
17:46 < rxr> y
17:47 < sepp> :)
