11:49 < mipe_fi> any expected problems when using emerge to update 2.1 to trunk? does modular X give problems on upgrade?
12:27 < rxr> re
12:27 < rxr> mipe_fi: yes - inter-branch emerge is not supported and needs manual tuning
12:28 < rxr> e.g. you get shared files when installing modular x packages with xorg installed and the like
12:28 < rxr> expert users can manage that - but it is not intended for light hearted
12:33 < mipe_fi> ok thanks for the info... i'll start a build of trunk and upgrade it that way
12:36 < rxr> welcome back mipe, btw ,-)
12:36 < rxr> how is your life these days ?
12:37 < mipe_fi> thanks, its good to be back...
12:38 < mipe_fi> i'm good thanks for asking... i was out of net for 6 months that was terrible experience :)
12:38 < rxr> ,-)
12:39 < mipe_fi> 6 months of waiting for adsl provider to install it... friend of mine is still waiting for his(over 8 months now), diffrent provider tho
12:42 < rxr> and I thought Germany would be painfully slow with such tasks ,-)

12:46 < rxr> ^- they claim it is computer rendered

12:55 < valentin> moin
12:56 < valentin> rxr: not bad, but the whole texture seems to come from some photograph
12:57 < rxr> whatever - I just saw it scrolling by on http://digg.com ,-)
12:59 < rxr> I think we should provide our own mailing list web browser interface
12:59 < rxr> to get more googleable content and thus hits
13:01 < rxr> I add two more mailing lists
13:01 < rxr> exact-image and minidisc and rename gsmp to exact-sound
13:01 < rxr> or exact-audio ?
13:01 < rxr> valentin: which name do you like more ?
13:02 < valentin> exact-media ;)
13:02 < rxr> lol
13:03 < rxr> well and what do we do with exact-image ?
13:03 < rxr> maybe all the tree? exact-audio, exact-image, exact-video ?
13:04 < valentin> ok
13:05 < rxr> do you start exact-video ? ;-)
13:06 < rxr> what would really rock is the ExactPDA (and Cellphone software)
13:07 < rxr> when I look on the Sony Ericsson M600i, with it's every 3 day crashes and not able to power off
13:07 < rxr> (it hangs while powering down ... ???) the world really need it ,-)
13:13 < rxr> hehe
13:13 < rxr> valentin: you have the same typical english mistakes built-in as I have
13:13 < rxr> our minimalist incoming symlinks are named incomming not incoming
13:14 < rxr> notice the number of m's ,-)=
13:18 < valentin> yeah, i vote for genglish == generalized english
13:18 < valentin> take english and substitute all irregularities
13:19 < valentin> okay, it is "to come"
13:19 < valentin> so coming
13:19 < rxr> I fix the symlinks and hope I do not forget a place to adapt ,-)
13:20 < rxr> so gsmp -> exact-audio - or better exact-sound ?
